A three-year starter at defensive back, Fenton is an athletic cornerback with fine instincts, good hands and excellent recovery speed. He has the vision and the attack mentality to excel in Cornell’s packages. As a junior in 2009, Fenton had 36 tackles, broke up nine passes and returned a blocked kick for a touchdown against Colgate for his first career score. He was second on the team in pass breakups, including four to go along with four tackles in the win at Yale. Fenton started all nine games in which he played in 2008, ranking sixth on the team with 47 tackles and led the squad with nine pass breakups. He also recorded 4.5 tackles for loss during the year. Fenton had three games with seven tackles, and posted five tackles, a tackle for loss, and three pass breakups in the last-second win at Lehigh. He also notched six tackles and two breakups in the win over preseason Ivy League favorite Yale. Fenton had a solid rookie campaign, seeing action in all 10 games and posting 15 tackles, an interception and two pass breakups. He started three games as a rookie, registering a season-best four tackles against Columbia. He intercepted his first career pass on the final play of regulation in a thrilling 38-35 overtime victory over Brown and broke up passes against both Bucknell and Yale. Fenton is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

At Flint Hill
A first-team all-state defensive back as a senior, Fenton was a two-way starter who also played quarterback at the Flint Hill School. The team’s offensive MVP in 2006, He was a first-team all-conference and all-county selection on defense and was named to the Sun Gazette’s top squad as well. Fenton had 50 tackles, 10 passes defended and six interceptions as a junior. He helped his team to an 8-2 record as a senior, including a perfect 3-0 mark against league foes. He also competed on the basketball team.
