The former walk-on has the confidence and strength to get the hard yards when given the football. As a junior in 2009, Hendren played both running back and fullback and finished third on the team in rushing with 229 yards on a team-best 6.0 yards per carry. Included was a 46-yard scamper in the season opener against Bucknell. He had three games with at least 50 rushing yards, including a 76-yard effort on just 11 carries against Princeton.  He also made four tackles on special teams in his eight contests. Hendren did a little bit of everything for the Big Red in 2008 en route to earning his first varsity letter. Appearing in all 10 games, Hendren blocked, ran the ball, caught the ball and played on the kickoff coverage team. Against Dartmouth, Hendren showed off his versatility by rushing for 11 yards on three carries and catching a pass for 15 yards. He also totaled 32 yards in kick off returns and made three special teams tackles on the year. Hendren saw action on the junior varsity team as a freshman. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

Vernon News and the Columbus Dispatch.
