Career Stats

At Cornell
Zerante will play a bigger role in the offense as one of the team’s most experience receivers. Thanks to his size and speed, he can haul in passes across the middle or be a deep threat. As a junior, Zerante caught five passes for 70 yards and a touchdown in nine contests. He caught two passes for 33 yards and a score against Princeton. Zerante played in nine games as a sophomore, earning his first varsity letter along the way. He caught eight passes for 51 yards, including his first career touchdown on an 11-yard grab in a win at Georgetown. Zerante played in six games on special teams as a freshman, making five tackles on kick return coverage. He earned the team’s Daniel N. Bondareff Freshman Scholar-Athlete Award, given to a freshman player for academic and football proficiency. Zerante is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.

At York
A four-sport star at York Community HS, Zerante was named one of the top 100 players in Illinois by both the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun Times as a senior. He graduated second all-time in school history in passing yards, touchdowns and total yards, accounting for 3,820 yards and 35 touchdowns in his career. Zerante passed for 1,634 yards and 19 touchdowns as a senior and rushed for 572 more with four scores. The conference offensive player of the year as a senior, Zerante was an all-conference and all-area first-team pick. Named one of the top playmakers in the state and a two-star prospect by Rivals.com, he also excelled in the classroom in being named academic all-state. Zerante was named the top junior athlete at York HS in 2005 after rushing for 344 yards and three touchdowns and tossing for 1,112 yards and nine scores. He was named one of the top 200 players in the Midwest by the Sporting News’ High School Football Magazine. He earned 11 total varsity letters in football, basketball, baseball and track and field. He was on the EA Sports Elite 11 Quarterbacks to Watch list to open the 2005 campaign.
