Senior Season - 2009-10
Jue showed off a flair for the dramatic on the season, scoring a number of huge goals at critical moments for the Big Red during its run to the national title game. She scored a pair of goals in the win against Harvard on Oct. 31 at Lynah Rink, including the game-winner, and added another game-winner in the very next game a 4-0 win against Union. Jue scored at least one point in each of the three games in the NCAA tournament, coming up huge with a pair of goals in the national championship game against Minnesota-Duluth. She twice had a string of three straight games with a point during the season. Jue scored three power-play goals on the season, the first two coming in two different games against Union and the third coming against Duluth. She also scored the game-tying goal in the Big Red's 2-2 tie against Yale on Dec. 4. Jue joined the team after spending the fall as the goaltender for the women's field hockey team at Cornell, finishing the season ranked second in the nation in save percentage and seventh in goals-against average.
Junior Season - 2008-09
Jue played in 27 games on the year, scoring two goals and seven assists for nine points. She had a pair of multi-point games on the year, tallying two assists in a 5-3 win over Niagara on Nov. 30, then scoring two goals and adding an assist in a 3-0 blanking of Union on Jan. 16. Jue missed the first two games of the season while finishing up the season with the Cornell field hockey team, for which she played goaltender during the 2008 season.
Sophomore Season - 2007-08
Jue appeared in 28 games for the Big Red as a sophomore, scoring her first career goal against Rensselaer on Jan. 11. She picked up her first multi-point game on Jan. 25 against Brown, tallying two assists. For the season, Jue led all defensemen with 11 points, finishing the season with one goal and 10 assists.
Freshman Season - 2006-07
Jue played in 15 games her rookie season after missing the first half of the year due to injury. She picked up her first career point with an assist against Mercyhurst on Jan. 6 to finish the year with one point.
Before Cornell
Jue was named MVP at the U-18 women’s and the senior women's nationals in 2005. She also earned MVP at the Midget AAA boys provincials in 2004. At Little Flower Academy, Jue also lettered in field hockey where she played goalie and served as captain for two years. She was a member of the honor roll and a perfect for grade 12.
Personal
Melanie Leanne Jue is the daughter of David and Jean Jue. She has two sisters. Jue is enrolled in Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences. Her uncle, Bryan Chiu, plays for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League.
