Biography
Caitlin Costello Career Statistics
A player that brings great height to Cornell’s stable of guards, Costello is a solid rebounder and passer, as well as a scrappy defender. With a year of experience under her belt, she will look to step up her contribution to the team for the 2010-11 season.
At Cornell
Freshman (2009-10): Costello saw action in 19 games during her rookie season, averaging 4.8 minutes per contest. She finished the year with seven points, 16 rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block. Costello posted a season-high three points vs. Samford, and led Cornell with a career-high six rebounds at Columbia on Jan. 23.
At Holy Trinity High School
Costello was a four-year varsity starter at Holy Trinity high school, a two-year captain, and a three-time NSCHSAA All-Long Island team selection. She was a McDonald’s All-American nominee and a Rise Magazine New York honorable mention as a senior. A six-year member of the Long Island Lightning AAU program with fellow incoming freshman Taylor Flynn, she was a key member of the Holy Trinity team that made it to the state championship game in 2007-08. Costello was also a three-year letter winner in volleyball and lettered twice in lacrosse. She was named to the NSCHSAA All-Long Island lacrosse team as a junior and helped guide her volleyball team to a state championship in 2006 and 2007.
Personal
Caitlin Marie Costello is the daughter of Bill and Lori Costello and she has one older and two younger sisters. Her uncle John Costello graduated from Cornell University. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
