Biography
Austin Boykin Career Statistics
At Cornell: Boykin took on an increased role with the Big Red defense during his junior season, playing in all 17 games. He collected 19 ground balls on the season and ranked fifth on the team with nine caused turnovers. Boykin was also a big part of the Cornell transition game with four assists and one goal. He registered his first collegiate points with a pair of assists vs. Virginia on March 8 and tallied his first goal against Syracuse on April 7. Boykin also had an assist vs. Hobart and against the Cavaliers in the national semifinal game. Boykin saw a significant increase in playing time during his sophomore season, playing in 11 games. He picked up four ground balls, including a season-high two vs. Binghamton. Boykin saw action in three games during his first season, playing vs. Yale, Penn and Hobart. He picked up one ground ball vs. the Statesmen.
At St. Paul’s School: An Under Armour All-American, Boykin was a two-time letter winner at St. Paul’s School. He was also an all-MIAA and a first-team all-metro selection. Boykin served as team captain in his senior season and holds the school’s single-season scoring record for a midfielder with 43 goals. Boykin also won 67 percent of his face offs and scooped 117 ground balls. He was also a Kelly Award nominee. Boykin also played soccer and ice hockey.
Personal: William Augustine Boykin V is the son of Bill and Ruth Anne Boykin and his younger brother, Tyler, plays lacrosse for the University of Delaware. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
