Career Statistics
At Cornell
Junior (2012): Gillum did not play during his junior season due to injury.
Sophomore (2011): Gillum saw action in 11 games during his sophomore season as a member of the Big Red’s second offensive midfield before being slowed by an injury. He had his best game against Dartmouth, tallying his only two points of the season with one goal and one assist. Gillum also picked up eight ground balls, including a season-high three against the Big Green, and won 2-of-7 face-offs on the year.
Freshman (2010): Gillum was a fixture on the Big Red offense during his rookie campaign, playing in all 18 games and making nine starts. A versatile player with tremendous heart, he played on both the midfield and attack lines at various points in the season. Gillum finished the year with nine goals and three assists to go along with 20 ground balls and two caused turnovers. He also took face-offs for the first time in his lacrosse career and proved effective, winning 26-of-52 (.500).
At Plano Senior HS
A two-time high school All-American, Gillum was a four-year letter winner at Plano Senior high school. He served as team captain during his junior and seionr seasons, earning all-state honors during both of those seasons. Gillum had his jersey number retired and was named his school’s Player of the Year following the 2009 season. He was named his team’s Offensive MVP in 2006, 2008, and 2009 and earned the team’s Pinnacle Award in 2007 and Rookie of the Year honors in 2006.
Personal
Ross Paul Gillum is the son of James and Trudy Gillum and he has an older brother. He is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
