Senior Season - 2012-13

Fortino wrapped up a phenomenal Big Red career with another strong season. Though her offensive production dropped a bit, she still led the Cornell defense to the second-fewest goals allowed in ECAC Hockey. She finished the season a +29, and she leaves Cornell with the second-best plus/minus in team history (+142). She also has the sixth-most assists in team history (98) and was an assistant captain in her senior year. Fortino was named to the ECAC Hockey Third Team and the Ivy League Second Team at the end of the regular season.

Junior Season - 2011-12
Fortino continued to excel for the Big Red in her junior season, as she was named to the All-Ivy First Team and ECAC Hockey First Team. She was a Patty Kazmaier Top 10 Finalist for the second consecutive season and was the team’s highest scoring defenseman. She had nearly 30 assists despite taking time away from Cornell to play with Team Canada at the 4 Nations Cup in Sweden in November. Fortino scored a season-high four points against Syracuse on Nov. 1, all coming on assists. She scored her first goal of the year against Boston University on Nov. 26. She has scored multiple points in four different games after the calendar turned to January.

Sophomore Season - 2010-11
Fortino has established herself as one of the top players in the nation, garnering a spot as one of the top 10 finalists for the 2011 Patty Kazmaier Award, and the only defensemen among the final 10. She finished the season with her second straight first-team All-America honor after leading all defensemen in the country in scoring with 41 points on nine goals and 32 assists in 33 games. Her 32 assists were also the most among all Cornell players. She has scored at least one point in 15 of the Big Red’s last 17 games, while also recording four game-winning goals on the season. Fortino missed a pair of games in early January when she was competing in the MLP Cup with Canada, where she was named the Most Outstanding Player in the tournament’s championship game. She has been a key part of the Big Red’s defense, power play and penalty-killing units that have ranked among the national leaders throughout the season. Fortino garnered a host of post-season honors, earning Ivy League Player of the Year accolades along with first-team All-ECAC Hockey and All-Ivy League honors. She was also selected to the all-tournament team of the ECAC Hockey tournament. During the playoffs, she scored at least one point in five of the six games on the year.

Freshman Season - 2009-10
Fortino became the first Cornell women's hockey player to ever earn first-team All-America honors, garnering a spot after pouring in 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points in her rookie campaign. She ranked fourth in the nation among all rookies in scoring and was second in the country in scoring among all defensemen. Fortino added first-team All-Ivy League and All-ECAC Hockey honors to her list of accolades. She picked up back-to-back ECAC Hockey rookie of the week awards in mid-January after she returned from international duty, playing for the Canadaian U22 team in the MLP Cup in Ravensburg, Germany, earning a gold medal in the process. Fortino scored at least one point in each of the six games immediately following the MLP Cup, tallying a goal and an assist against both Dartmouth and Harvard, then dropping in two goals and three assists in the weekend series against Colgate. She finished the season with eight multi-point games on the season, including scoring a pair of assists in the national championship game against Minnesota-Duluth. Fortino closed out the season on an eight-game scoring streak, and is the only player on the Cornell roster who scored at least one point in all seven of the Big Red's post-season contests. Of her 13 goals on the year, six came on the power play, three were game-winners, and one came short-handed during the national semifinal victory against Mercyhurst on March 19. Fortino exhibited outstanding discipline on the ice, being called for just one penalty during the entire season.
