Alice Cope Career Statistics
At Cornell
Sophomore (2010): Cope saw significant playing time in 2010 and was named the team’s Most Improved Player following the season. She played in 22 matches, seeing action in 64 sets overall. Cope finished the year with 95 kills (1.48 per set) and 53 blocks (0.83 per set). She also hit .172 on the year for the Big Red. Cope posted a career-high 10 kills vs. Princeton on Oct. 23.
Freshman (2009): Cope saw significant playing time as a freshman, seeing action in 20 matches, playing in 54 sets. She ranked fifth on the team in kills per game (1.26) and posted an impressive .195 hitting percentage. She registered double-digit kills on two occasions, tallied a career-high 12 kills vs. Fairleigh Dickinson and led the Big Red with 10 kills against St. Johns. Cope finished the year with 68 kills, 34 blocks, 22 digs and 11 assists.
Before Cornell
Cope earned two letters in volleyball at Newport Harbor HS, earning all-league honorable mention in 2008. She helped her team to a second-place finish in the Sunset League and a third-place showing in the Ann Kang Invitational in Oahu, Hawaii. She also helped her team take seventh in the Chicago Nike Challenge. Cope served as the team co-captain for the Orange County Volleyball Club in 2009. Cope also played two years of soccer and competed in track and field for three years.
Personal
Alice Muriel Cope is the daughter of Tom and Ann Cope and has an older sister. Her mother is a 1977 graduate of Cornell University, while her grandfather (Bob Potter '50) and uncle (Web Potter '84) are also Cornell alumni. She is enrolled in the College of Human Ecology.
