Senior Season - 2010-11
Devin experienced his best season in a Cornell uniform as a senior, a year that saw him don the C on his sweater as team captain. He appeared in all 34 games and scored 27 points, good for second on the roster, after scoring a team-best 17 goals while adding in 10 assists. Devin's play was good enough to earn him second-team All-ECAC Hockey honors for the season. He posted career highs in goals, power play goals and game-winners on the year, while also recording double-digit scoring games eight times. He had four two-goal games on the year and picked up three games with multiple assists. Devin opened his scoring for the year by tallying a goal in the win at Clarkson on Nov. 6, then had a string of four straight games with at least one point from Nov. 19 through Dec. 3, scoring six points over that span. Devin's strongest game came on Jan. 8 at Quinnipiac, when he factored into the scoring on all three of Cornell's goals, scoring twice including the game-winner. He had a five-point weekend at home against Clarkson and St. Lawrence on Feb. 4-5, scoring a goal and two assists against the Knights and tallying a pair of goals against the Saints. Devin picked up four goals during the ECAC Hockey quarterfinal series against Clarkson, scoring two goals in the game one and game three victories. Six of his goals went for game-winners, while five of them came on the power play.
Junior Season - 2009-10
Devin had a breakout season as a junior, scoring career highs with nine points and 13 assists for 22 points on the season. He had a pair of three-point games on the season and had four multi-point games on the year. Devin scored at least one point in five of the first six games of the year, tallying four goals and six assists over that span. He scored the game-winning goal in overtime in the season opener against Niagara on Oct. 30, then followed up a week later with a pair of goals and an assist in the Big Red's 6-3 win against Harvard. He then had three assists in Cornell's 5-2 victory against Princeton on Nov. 20. Devin then had a pair of assists in the loss to the Tigers on Dec. 30. In three games against Princeton, he picked up one goal and five assists. Devin scored the game-winning goal in the Big Red's 3-0 win against Union in the ECAC Hockey tournament title game.
Sophomore Season - 2008-09
Devin was in the midst of a breakout year as a potent goal-scoring threat when his season was sidetracked by an injury that forced him to sit out each of the final 10 games. He appeared in 25 games, scoring eight goals and tallied four assists. Devin recorded his first career multi-point game with two goals in the Big Red's 3-2 win over St. Cloud State in the Florida College Classic on Dec. 27. In that game, his second goal would stand up as the game-winner, the first of his career. Devin then added another multi-goal game on Jan. 24, scoring twice against Brown. Three weeks later, he added a goal and an assist in the loss at Dartmouth on Feb. 13. Devin also saw extended time on the power play, scoring his first career power-play goal on Jan. 4 at Massachusetts.

Freshman Season - 2007-08
Devin scored the first goal of the season for the Big Red during his collegiate debut, scoring a third-period goal at Rochester Institute of Technology on Oct. 27, 2007. He scored goals in back-to-back games on Jan. 25 against Brown at Lynah Rink and then again on Feb. 1, scoring the first goal in a 2-1 victory over Colgate at Lynah Rink. He appeared in 23 games as a freshman, tallying three points on three goals. Devin appeared in 11 of the Big Red's final 12 games of the season, sitting out only the ECAC Hockey Consolation game against Colgate.
Before Cornell
Devin appeared in 69 games for the Clippers, helping Nanaimo of the BCHL win the Coastal Conference and the Chevrolet Cup. He scored nine goals, including one power-play goal, and tallied 17 assists, registering 26 points on the year.
Personal
Joe Devin is the son of Chuck and Donna Devin. His twin brother, Mike, is a defenseman with the Big Red, while his sister, Molly, is a member of the women's hockey team at Union. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
