Biography
Senior Season - 2010-11
Nicholls wrapped up his career with another strong season, finishing the year with six assists while playing in 29 of the team's 34 games. He picked up a pair of assists in the victory at Clarkson on Nov. 6, and had four assists in the first three games he appeared in during the season. Nicholls would finish the season by appearing in each of the final nine games of the year. On the season, he set a career high in games played, points and penalty minutes, finishing his career ranked tied for 49th all-time at Cornell with 122 minutes in the box.
Junior Season - 2009-10
Nicholls further established himself as a strong defensive forward, appearing in 27 games as a junior and scoring a pair of goals and adding one assist for three points. He scored his first goal of the season on Nov. 14 against Brown, then added his second marker of the season in the NCAA tournament game against New Hampshire. In between, Nicholls added an assist in the 2-0 victory against Quinnipiac on Feb. 5. Nicholls finished the season with 28 minutes in penalties and a +1 rating.
Sophomore Season - 2008-09
Nicholls found a spot in the regular rotation on the Big Red's fourth line, appearing in 23 games on the year. He scored his only goal of the season in Cornell's 4-1 win over Clarkson on Dec. 5, a goal that would turn out to be the game-winner. While playing in one more game than his freshman season, he cut his penalty minutes down by a third, spending only 16 minutes in the box on the year.

Freshman Season - 2007-08
Nicholls, a physical forward with good defensive instincts, appeared in 22 games for the Big Red as a freshman. He was named the ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week on Nov. 19 after scoring a pair of goals in the Big Red's 4-1 win at Dartmouth two days prior. He added an assist in the win over Quinnipiac on Nov. 3 and tallied another in the victory over Niagara on Jan. 4. Nicholls appeared in each of the Big Red's first 15 games before working his way in and out of the lineup due to injury.
Before Cornell
Nicholls plays a physical game and will bring added strength and toughness to the Cornell lineup. He appeared in 52 games for the Bowmanville Eagles last season, scoring four goals and 14 assists. In his first year at Bowmanville, he scored a pair of game-winning goals for the Eagles in the playoffs, tallying nine points in 18 playoff contests. In his two seasons there, he scored 33 points in 70 games, including a short-handed goal and four game-winners.
Personal
Dan Nicholls is the son of Steve Nicholls and Karen Eyden. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
