Biography
Susie Doyle Career Statistics
Doyle, a member of the U16, U17 and U18 Irish national teams, saw her junior season cut short due to injury after a sophomore season in which she started the majority of games for the Big Red. As the lone senior on the team, she will be looked at to provide leadership to an extremely young squad.
At Cornell
Junior (2009-10): Doyle saw action in just one game before succumbing to a season-ending injury.
Sophomore (2008-09): Doyle saw action in 24 games during the season, making 17 starts, including nine starts during Ivy League play. She averaged nearly 20 minutes per contest and established herself as a solid rebounder, pulling down 4.5 caroms per contest. She led Cornell in rebounds in two games, registering a career-high 12 rebounds vs. both Bryant and Yale (Jan. 31). In that contest vs. the Bulldogs, Doyle also scored six crucial points in the final 1:30 of play to help seal the Big Red’s victory. She scored a career-high eight points vs. Albany and finished the year averaging 2.5 points per game. Doyle also handed out a career-high four assists against Columbia on Jan. 17 and again vs. Dartmouth on Feb. 27.
Freshman (2007-08): As a rookie, Doyle saw action in 19 games, averaging 3.9 minutes per outing. For the season, she grabbed 13 rebounds, scored seven points and handed out seven assists. She saw her first collegiate action vs. Lafayette and played a season-high 16 minutes vs. Brown on Feb. 1. She set a season-high with two assists during that game vs. the Bears and the next day, she set a season-high with three rebounds vs. Yale. She scored two points on three occasions, making a field goal at Columbia (Jan 26) and at Brown (Feb. 23), while connecting on two free throws vs. Yale (Feb. 2).
At Donnybrook
Doyle was named the team MVP as both a junior and a senior at The Donnybrook School of Dublin and led her squad to the All-Ireland Title during her junior and senior seasons. She was named her school’s Sports Person of the Year in 2006 and the Basketball Person of the Year in 2003. Doyle led her U16 and U18 Irish National Teams to the European Championships and was named captain of the U16 squad in 2004 and the U18 in 2006. She was named MVP of the U18 team and finished the 2006 season with the national team as the 10th leading rebounder with 8.3 caroms per game.
Personal
Susan Elise Doyle is the daughter of Michael and Susan Doyle and she has an older brother, two older sisters and a younger brother. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
