Allie Munson Career Statistics

At Cornell 
Junior (2010-11):  Munson served as co-captain during her junior season. She played in 27 games, making three starts, and averaging nearly 10 minutes per contest. Munson finished the year averaging 2.0 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. She also chipped in six blocked shot on the year, which brings her within one of breaking into Cornell’s top-10 list for career blocks. Munson led the Big Red in rebounding in two contests, including a season-high eight boards vs. Dartmouth on Jan. 28.

Sophomore (2009-10): Munson saw action in all 27 games, making 25 starts as a sophomore. She averaged more than 20 minutes per game and ranked first on the team and 12th in the Ivy League in rebounds (5.7). Munson also chipped in 5.1 points per game, while blocking 17 shots and handing out 14 assists. She scored in double-digits five times during the season and led the Big Red in scoring on two occasions. Munson was the team leader in rebounds in 10 games. She set a new career-high with 14 rebounds at Princeton on Feb. 26 and added 12 points for her first career double-double.

Freshman (2008-09): Munson saw action in all 26 games during her rookie campaign as Coach Smith’s first option off the bench. She averaged 3.2 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game and saw her numbers improve against Ivy League opponents with 4.3 points and rebounds per game vs. the Ancient Eight. She also ranked second on the team with 16 blocked shots on the season. Munson proved to be a solid shooter as well, connecting on a team high 47.8 percent from the floor (33-for-69). She registered a team-high in rebounds on five occasions and led the Big Red in scoring once with a career-high 17 points vs. Columbia on Jan. 24. In that contest against the Lions, she connected on 8-of-9 shots from the floor, grabbed seven rebounds and blocked two shots and for her efforts she was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. She registered a career-high 10 rebounds vs. Harvard on Feb. 28.

At Southington
Munson, a two sport athlete, was a four-year varsity letter winner in both basketball and volleyball during her career at Southington high school. She is a physical 6-2 forward with an intense playing style and the ability to score with her back to the basket and from the perimeter. She has been a consistent force in the paint in the CIAC, averaging 14.1 points and 12.9 rebounds per game during her senior season. Munson was named the MVP of her team in both her junior and senior seasons, as well as being a two-time first-team All-Conference and a two-time first-team All-New Britain Herald selection. Munson was also named as a Hartford Courant All State First Team selection following her senior season and earned the Southington high school Female Scholar Athlete of the Year award for her efforts on the court and in the classroom. 

Personal
Alexandra Jean Munson is the daughter of Richard Munson and Debra Post-Munson and she has one younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
