As a Junior (2012-13)
Gagliardi, an assistant captain for the Big Red, improved her game all over in her junior year. Taking on a leadership role, she blocks shots better than anyone on the team and was named to the All-Ivy Honorable Mention squad. She had two game-winning goals for Cornell and had five goals overall, tying for her highest-scoring season in a Big Red uniform. She also added 13 assists for 18 total points and had two goals on the power play. Gagliardi was named to the U.S. Women's National Team's Training Camp in March.
As a Sophmore (2011-12)
Gagliardi notched a season-high three points against Harvard on Nov. 12, one day after scoring her first goal of the year against Dartmouth. Her goal against Princeton on Nov. 19 was the game-winner. She has tallied three multi-point games in the second half of the year, recording a goal and assist at St. Lawrence, earning two assists against Brown in the first game of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinal and adding a goal and assist against Quinnipiac in the ECAC Hockey Semifinal to match her 19 point total from her freshman season. Coach Doug Derraugh named Gagliardi as the team's unsung hero before the national semifinal game against Minnesota, crediting Gagliardi for her shot blocking abilities and her strong work effort.
As a Freshman (2010-11)
Gagliardi enjoyed a strong first year with the Big Red, garnering a spot on the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie team. She has appeared in all 35 of the Big Red’s games this season and has been a key part of the Big Red defense and penalty-killing units that have ranked among the national leaders all season long. She had a huge game on Nov. 26 against Niagara, picking up three assists, while collecting two more the following night against the Purple Eagles. She had a string of four straight games with an assist from Jan. 18 against Mercyhurst through Jan. 28 agianst Union. She picked up her first career playoff point with an assist in the ECAC Hockey championship game against Dartmouth on March 5. Gagliardi finished the season with 19 points on a goal and 18 assists.
Before Cornell
Gagliardi spent four years at Shattuck-St. Mary’s, winning a USA Hockey national championship in 2009 and finishing as runner-up in 2010. She also served as the captain of the girls U16 team as a sophomore and an assistant captain of the girls U19 team as a senior. Gagliardi also received the team’s Holsinger Sportsmanship Award as a senior. She appeared in 36 games, scoring eight goals and adding 25 assists for 33 points with 18 minutes in penalties.
Personal
Alyssa Marie Gagliardi is the daughter of Mark and Lisa Gagliardi and has an older brother. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
