Junior Season - 2010
Lea was injured during the 2010 season and did not appear in any games for the Big Red.

Sophomore Season - 2009
Lea made nine appearances out of the bullpen for the Big Red as a sophomore, working a total of 7.0 innings. He pitched a scoreless inning in his season debut on March 14 at Santa Clara, and added another four days later at Saint Mary's. Lea finished the season with a 15.43 earned run average and an 0-1 record, taking the loss in relief at Siena on April 21.

Freshman Season - 2008
Lea made one start among his eight appearances as a freshman, getting the nod on March 2 against Siena. His best outings came later in the season when he allowed just one earned run over his final 5.1 innings of work spanning three appearances from April 20 against Columbia to April 25 against Princeton.

Before Cornell
Lea was named a first-team all-area pitcher by The Morning Call following his junior and senior seasons, adding in most valuable player of the Colonial League following his senior year. A two-time first-team all-league pitcher, he was also named second-team all-league as a designated hitter following his junior season. In his final two seasons at Salisbury, he struck out 200 batters in 132.6 innings. A three-year letterman, he was co-captain and co-most valuable player of his team as a senior, and was also named to the Colonial League Academic All-Star team. Lea was named the starting pitcher for both the Colonial League All-Star game and the American Legion All-Star game. He was also awarded the U.S. Army Reserve National Scholar-Athlete award.

Personal
Daniel Keeton Lea is the son of Victor Lea and Lee Anne Fara, and he has three sisters and a brother. He is enrolled in the College of Engineering.
