Career Stats
As a senior
Tierney's Cornell career came to a close with a season that saw her play in 13 of the team's 16 games. Scoring three goals on the year and adding one assist, Tierney finishes her time on East Hill with nine goals and six assists for 15 points. Tierney scored two of her three goals against Canisius, and she caused a season-high two turnovers against then-No. 7 Notre Dame.
As a junior
Tierney was one of Cornell's top reserves, seeing action in 13 contests with two starts. She ended the year with four goals and two assists, including a three-point effort against Brown (two goals, assist). She also had two ground balls against the Bears. Tierney caused two turnovers and won a ground ball against Loyola. She also scored goals against Harvard and Princeton and assisted on a score vs. Colgate.
As a sophomore
Tierney missed a majority of the season with an injury, starting the team's first three games before missing more than a month. She had four points in the team's first three contests, including a one-goal, two-assist effort against Hofstra. Tierney was also credited with a goal against Colgate.
As a freshman
Tierney saw action in five contests as a reserve in 2009, recording her first collegiate point with an assist against nationally ranked Vanderbilt. She played against LeMoyne, Yale, Harvard, Notre Dame and the Commodores.
At Skaneateles HS
A two-year scholastic All-American at Skaneateles HS, Tierney was a three-year starter for teams that went a combined 59-11 and reached the state finals all three years, including a state title in 2006. A two-time first-team all-league and all-Central New York pick, Tierney had 72 goals and 29 assists as a senior to close her varsity career with 151 goals and 75 assists. A team captain as a senior, she was a New York State all-tournament team pick in each of her final two seasons and earned the Sportsmanship Award as a sophomore at the state tourney. Tierney was also a three-year soccer player who served as captain in her final season.
Personal
Shannon Feeney Tierney is the daughter of John and Carolyn Tierney and has an older sister and a younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
