Biography
Senior Season — 2011-12
Serving as the captain, Ross continued to be a model of consistency while playing all of the team’s games. His plus-15 rating was tops among the team’s defensemen, and he was named a First-Team All-American for the Lowe’s Senior CLASS Award, an honor bestowed on the top five finalists. One of the team’s top penalty-killers, Ross also pitched in on the offensive end, notching his second career two-point game on Nov. 5 at Brown.
Junior Season - 2010-11
Ross continued to be one of the top stay-at-home defensemen in the league as a junior, ranking second on the team and leading all defensemen in +/- for the season. He appeared in 33 games and added three assists for the year, while finishing at a +12 rating. He also was one of the team's top penalty-killing defensemen, spending just 12 minutes in the box during the season. Ross had an assist in back-to-back games on Nov. 6 at Clarkson and Nov. 12 against Quinnipiac, and later added an assist on Greg Miller's short-handed goal in the regular-season finale at Yale on Feb. 26. Ross would have just six games where he had a negative figure in the +/-.
Sophomore Season - 2009-10
Ross appeared in 28 games as a sophomore, joining the regular rotation on the Cornell blue line. Aside from playing strong defense, Ross also contributed two goals and three assists for five points while tallying 12 minutes in penalties and picking up a +3 rating. He scored his first point of the season with a goal on Dec. 30 against Princeton, then picked up an assist in the next game of the season on Jan. 3 at New Hampshire. He scored his second goal of the year on Feb. 19 at Harvard, then tallied an assist a week later against Union. Ross closed out the season with an assist in the NCAA tournament game on March 26 against New Hampshire.

Freshman Season - 2008-09
Ross earned a spot on the ECAC Hockey All-Rookie team after being one of the Big Red's top defensemen from day one. Showing the poise of a seasoned veteran, Ross quickly became a mainstay on the penalty killing unit. He opened up his career focusing on the defensive aspect of the game, but as the season progressed, Ross contributed more on the offensive end of the ice. He scored his first career point with an assist on Jan. 4 against Massachusetts, then tallied his first career multi-point game on Feb. 21 against Union, scoring a pair of goals against the Dutchmen. He tallied his first career playoff point on March 14 in game two of the ECAC Hockey quarterfinals against Rensselaer with an assist. Ross also earned an assist in the loss to Bemidji State in the NCAA Midwest Regional Final. He appeared in 32 of the 36 games, missing four games early during the season due to an injury.
Before Cornell
Ross played two seasons with the Omaha Lancers, helping that side to the USHL crown in 2007-08. He appeared in 68 games last season, scoring seven goals and tallying 15 assists for 22 points and picked up 49 minutes in penalties while recording a +39 rating. In his first season with Omaha, he appeared in 62 games, scoring three goals and adding three assists to go along with a +19 rating and 49 penalty minutes.
Personal
Keir Alexander Ross is the son of Colin Ross and Nancy Keys, and he has a brother and a sister. He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
