Maka Anyanwu Career Statistics
At Cornell
Junior (2010-11): In her first season with the Big Red, Anyanwu was a solid contributor, playing in all 28 games and making four starts. She averaged 3.5 points and 2.8 rebounds on the season while chipping in 11 assists and nine steals. Anyanwu led Cornell is scoring once on the season, racking up a career-high 21 points at Dartmouth on Feb. 19. She also led the Big Red in rebounding in two contests, including that same game vs. the Big Green in which she matched a career-high with seven boards.
Before Cornell
Anyanwu spent one season at Cal-State Fullerton before transferring to Umpqua Community College. She finished the 2009-10 season ranked 12th all-time in Redhawks’ history with 535 points and was named a NWAACC first-team all-league selection. Anyanwu was also named to the 2010 NWAACC All-Star Team – South Region.
At Skyline HS
Anyanwu was a four-time Oakland Athletic League All-City selection while at Skyline high school. She led the league in scoring during her senior season with 21.9 points per game and finished fourth overall with 9.4 rebounds per game. Anyonwu also shot just over 54 percent from the field, averaged 2.0 steals per game and blocked 20 shots on the year. That season, she led her tema to a 20-10 record overall and reached the CIF Northern Region second round before falling to eventual state runner-up Berkeley HS. Anyanwu averaged more than 11 points and shot better than 40 percent from the field in three of her four prep seasons, including averaging 12.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as a junior. She also played volleyball for two seasons.
Personal
Nneamaka Mary Anyanwu is the daughter of Patience and Ambrose Anyanwu and she has two brothers and three sisters. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
