At Cornell
Roy Lang was a two-time All-American, earning first-team honors in 2011 and third-team honors in 2012. He was also a two-time first-team All-Ivy choice, earning a unanimous selection in 2011. As a senior, Lang took on a larger role in the Big Red defensive and face-off units as a do-it-all midfielder. He finished the 2012 season with 16 goals and six assists for 22 points and collected 23 ground balls and caused seven turnovers. As a junior, he ranked fourth on the team with 27 goals and 36 points overall to go along with 38 ground balls and eight caused turnovers. Lang ranked fifth on the team in goals (16), assists (6) and points (22) during his sophomore season after spending his rookie campaign playing primarily at the defensive midfield position.
At St. Ignatius Prep
A two-time high school All-American at St. Ignatius Prep, Lang was also selected to participate in the 2008 Under Armour All-America game. He was a three-year varsity letter winner, earning his team’s MVP award as a senior captain. Lang led St. Ignatius Prep to back-to-back 19-1 seasons. As a senior, he scored 74 goals and added 25 assists as his team obtained a No. 1 ranking in California, a No. 2 ranking in the Western region, and a No. 16 ranking in the nation. The 2008 California Boys Player of the Year, Lang registered 50 goals and 18 assists as a junior. Lang also lettered twice in football and played two years of soccer, earning all-league and all-metro honors on the gridiron.
Personal
Roy Tyler Lang is the son of Steve and Allison Lang and he has a twin sister and a younger sister and brother. His younger sister Kelly is on the Cornell women's lacrosse team. Lang is enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
