Career Statistics

At Cornell 
Junior (2012): Taylor saw action in just one game during his junior campaign, playing against Army before suffering a season-ending injury. 

Sophomore (2011): Taylor played in seven games during his sophomore season, registering two goals and two assists for four points on the season. His goals came against Army and Dartmouth, while his assists were tallied against Canisius and Brown. Taylor’s goal against the Black Knights was his only man-up goal of the season.

Freshman (2010): Taylor was hampered by an injury for much of his rookie season and saw action in just two games, playing against Binghamton and Yale.
At Fayetteville-Manlius HS
A high school All-American, Taylor lettered four times at Fayetteville-Manlius high school where he set both the career (288) and single-season (104) points records. He was a two-time first-team All-CNY selection, as well as a third-team pick. Taylor served as team captain twice and was a three-time first-team all-league honoree. He also participated in two Empire State Games. Taylor also lettered three times in football, earning all-league and All-CNY honors. 

Personal
Matthew Joseph Taylor is the son of Joe and Kathy Taylor and he has two older sisters. He comes from a long line of Cornellians as both his parents, his uncle, two aunts and grandfather all attended Cornell. His father Joe '80 was a four-time letter winner for the Big Red and won a national championship with the 1977 squad before helping the team to a national runner-up finish in 1978. His mother Kathy [Milmoe] ’84 played for the Big Red women’s lacrosse team from 1982-84 and became the first Cornell women's player to earn first-team All-Ivy League honors during her senior season. She went on to a highly successful career coaching girls lacrosse at nearby Fayetteville-Manlius from 1988 to 2006 and is currently the head coach of women's lacrosse at Cortland. Both his parents were inducted in the Upstate New York Chapter of the Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2010. Taylor is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
