Biography
As a Junior (2012-13)
Cudmore emerged as the Big Red’s second-highest scoring defenseman in her junior season, striking for multi-point games six times. Her 24 points, five goals and 19 assists were all career highs, and she matched her career high with three points at Princeton on Feb. 9. For the second consecutive year, Cudmore scored a game-winning goal against a top-10 Mercyhurst team.
As a Sophomore (2011-12)
Cudmore had a season-high three points against Brown on Oct. 29, with all three points coming on assists. She tallied her first career goal against Syracuse on Nov. 1 and added a second against then-No. 5 Boston University on Nov. 26. After the new year, Cudmore assisted on five more Big Red goals and scored one herself, tallying the game-winner against then-No. 5 Mercyhurst in Lynah Rink on Feb. 7. She also added an assist in that game.
As a Freshman (2010-11)
Cudmore picked up nine points on the season while being one of four players to appear in all 35 of the Big Red’s games. She tallied a pair of assists during the season’s first weekend and had a string of three straight Saturday games in which she collected an assist from Feb. 12 through Feb. 26. Cudmore has also been a key part of the Big Red defense and penalty-killing unit this season that has ranked among the national leaders in both categories.
Before Cornell
As a defenseman, Cudmore led the Oakville Ice in scoring in 2009-10, appearing in 34 games and scoring seven goals and 13 assists for 20 points. She was also a member of the Ontario U18 team and played on the Canadian U18 team that won a gold medal at the world championships. Cudmore also played four years of basketball and two years of rugby in high school, winning a Halton Championship in hockey twice and once in rugby.
Personal
Hayleigh Fay Cudmore is the daughter of John and Stephanie Cudmore and has an older brother and a younger sister. She is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
