2014-15 Men's Ice Hockey Roster
Biography
Senior Season — 2014-15
Bardreau emerged as Cornell's leading scorer, netting five goals — four on the power play — to go with a team-high 17 assists for 22 points. He was also named the ECAC Hockey Best Defensive Forward and was a key component of one of the top team defenses in the country. Cornell led the nation at the end of its regular season with a 91.1 percent success rate on the penalty kill. He had 23 blocked shots on the season, which was tied for the most among the team's forwards, and he won 56 percent of his faceoffs in the 2015 portion of the season. Bardreau was named to the All-Ivy League First Team and the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team. After the season, he signed a two-year entry-level contract with the NHL's Philadelphia Flyers and played out the season with their AHL affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms.
Junior Season — 2013-14
Despite having injuries truncate his season, Bardreau was able to set career-highs across the board in all major offensive categories. Serving as one of the team's assistant captains, he was sixth on the team with 16 points and he was fourth on the team with four goals. His plus-6 rating was tied for the team lead, despite frequently being matched up against the opposition's top forward combinations. Bardreau was the team's most-used faceoff option, winning 52.3 percent of his nearly 600 draws on the year. He started the season red-hot with a goal in each of the team's season-opening games Oct. 25-26 at Nebraska-Omaha. After missing the next six games due to injury, Bardreau had a notable return with a career-high three points in a Nov. 22 victory against Brown.
Sophomore Season — 2012-13
Bardreau was emerging as one of the team's top contributors before his season was cut short by a serious injury in January. He had his first career multi-point game in the Big Red's season opener against Colorado College on Oct. 26, when he assisted on a pair of power-play goals. He would eventually leave the team to serve as assistant captain for the United States in their impressive run to the gold medal at the prestigious International Ice Hockey Federation World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia. Bardreau wasted little time making an impact in his return to the Big Red, scoring a goal and adding an assist on Jan. 18 at Union.
Freshman Season — 2011-12
Bardreau was a regular in the Big Red’s lineup, missing just one game due to injury. One of the fastest skaters on the team, Bardreau saw ice time in all situations with a variety of linemates. His first career goal came Nov. 11 at Harvard on a rebound of a shot from the point. He also scored an overtime winner on the power play against Dartmouth on Jan. 20.
Before Cornell
Bardreau spent the 2010-11 season with the United States National Team Development Program, playing international competitions in addition to a handful of games in the USHL. For the entire season, he appeared in 60 games and scored 11 goals and had 15 assists for 26 points, ranking him eighth on the team. He was also a member of the U.S. team that captured the gold medal at the IIHF U18 World Championship in April 2011 in Germany. He also represented the United States at the 2010 U17 World Hockey Challenge.
