2014-15 Men's Ice Hockey Roster
Biography
Senior Season — 2014-15
Dias was presented the season's Cornell Hockey Association Award, which is given annually to the player whose contributions to the team don't show up in the box score, but rather are in the form of energy, heart and hustle. The honor was befitting of Dias, who was one of just six players to appear in all 31 of the team's games, and he was a key contributor to a penalty kill that was the nation's best (91.1 percent) at the end of the regular season. He scored two goals and added an assist for three points on the season.
Junior Season — 2013-14
Dias appeared in a career-high 32 games and pitched in with a goal and three assists for four points while also regularly killing penalties. In fact, his goal came with Harvard on the man advantage on Jan. 17, when Dias reeled in Joakim Ryan's breakaway pass in the neutral zone before beating Steve Michalek high to the stick side for the team's only shorthanded goal of the season.
Sophomore Season — 2012-13
Dias worked his way into 24 games, scoring a pair of big goals in victories down the stretch. His first career goal came Feb. 15, when he helped create a turnover on the forecheck and scored unassisted in a road victory at Dartmouth. He then scored the go-ahead goal in Game 1 of an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series at Quinnipiac, which the Big Red went on to win.
Freshman Season — 2011-12
Dias appeared in nearly half of the Big Red’s games, notching his first career point on Locke Jillson’s goal late in the second period of an overtime win over Dartmouth on Jan. 20.
Before Cornell
Dias appeared in 62 games during the 2010-11 season with Victoria of the BCHL, scoring 56 points on 22 goals and 34 assists to rank fourth on the team in scoring. He played three seasons with Victoria, appearing in 185 games and collecting 115 points on 46 goals and 69 assists. Dias also represented Team Canada West at both the 2009 and 2010 World Jr. A Challenge.
Personal
