Biography

Boston Bruins
2011 NHL Draft
4th Round 121st Overall
Junior Season — 2013-14
Ferlin led the team in scoring with 27 points on a team-high 13 goals, six power-play goals and six game-winning goals. He was named to the All-Ivy League First Team and the All-ECAC Hockey Third Team. Two of his game-winners came in overtime. The first came Jan. 31 at Yale, when he outskated a Bulldogs defenseman from the Cornell zone all the way down ice before snapping a shot over the glove of Yale's Steve Lyon. Then, in Game 3 of the ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series against Clarkson, Ferlin jammed a shot the right of the Golden Knights' Steve Perry under the goalie's left arm to clinch the series for the host Big Red. He had a pair of three-point games early in the season, including the season-opening Oct. 25 win at Nebraska-Omaha. Ferlin then netted a pair of goals to go with an assist in a rout of St. Lawrence on Nov. 16. He later enjoyed a seven-game scoring streak after the semester break, including both games of the Florida College Classic in Ferlin's home state. He was named to the all-tournament team. Ferlin signed an NHL contract with the Boston Bruins shortly after the Big Red's season concluded.

Sophomore Season — 2012-13
Ferlin finished second on the team in scoring with 24 points, coming on particularly strong down the stretch. He had 11 points over the Big Red's final 10 games, including his first career three-assist effort on Feb. 23 against Union. He had points in four of the team's five playoff games, scoring a pair of power-play goals to spur the Big Red to a 3-2 victory over No. 1 Quinnipiac in the first game of an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series. Ferlin then scored the go-ahead in Game 3 before the Bobcats rallied to tie the game on an extra-attacker goal. Earlier in the season, he had his second career three-point effort on Dec. 28 in his native state when he scored two goals and added an assist in the Big Red's 5-3 victory over Ferris State in the semifinals of Florida College Hockey Classic in Estero, Fla. Ferlin's plus-10 rating also ranked second on the team.

Freshman Season — 2011-12
Ferlin exploded onto the college scene, winning ECAC Hockey and Ivy League Rookie of the Year Awards. The first native of Jacksonville, Fla. to be selected in the NHL Entry Draft, Ferlin was was among the top 12 nationally with 0.81 points per game and finished tied for second in the ECAC Hockey rookie scoring race after posting 17 points in the Big Red’s first 19 conference games. He was named Rookie of the Week on consecutive weeks of Nov. 7 and Nov. 14 during a seven-game scoring streak which included 11 points on five goals and six assists. His season was then cut short with an injury on Feb. 17, keeping him out of action for the team's final three regular-season games and postseason run.
