Senior Season — 2013-14Mowrey finished fifth on the team in scoring with six goals and 14 assists for 20 points, despite playing in just 23 games. Mowrey became the first Cornell player to post four points in a game in more than three years when he scored a goal to go with three assists to factor into all of the Big Red's goals in a 4-4 tie with St. Lawrence. it was part of a six-game scoring streak for Mowrey, who also had three assists the first time the Big Red played the Saints on Nov. 16. Mowrey was the team's best faceoff man with a 52.7 percent success rate over exactly 400 draws. At the team's postseason banquet, Mowrey was presented the Sam Woodside Award for overall career improvement. He finished his career playing in 115 games, scoring 20 goals to go with 45 assists for 65 points – the highest total among his classmates, despite several injury-shortened seasons. He was also tabbed for the Joe DeLibero-Stan Tsapis Award for skilled efficiency, unselfish dedication and hard-nosed competitive desire.
Junior Season — 2012-13Mowrey once again proved to be a valuable asset for the Big Red, shifting from the wing to center when absences and injuries left the team thin up the middle. He had three points over a four-game span in which Cole Bardreau was away from the team and competing in the World Junior Championships, then he had four points over a three-game span after Bardreau was lost for the balance of the season due to injury. Outside of goalie Andy Iles, Mowrey appeared in the most games among his classmates. His 12 assists tied for fourth-most on the team, and he also added three goals to result in 15 points. His first goal of the season came just 41 seconds into the Big Red's 3-1 victory at Colgate on Nov. 2. It was the fastest Big Red goal to start a game this season.
Sophomore Season — 2011-12Mowrey scored 20 of his 23 points in the final three months of the season to finish third on the team in scoring with a strong complementary plus-12 rating. Four of his eight goals came in the postseason, including the Big Red's only goal in an NCAA Midwest Regional final loss to Ferris State on March 24. The night before, Mowrey assisted on the overtime winner against top-seeded Michigan. His first goal of the campaign came on Nov. 18 against Princeton, but Mowrey's season really took off when he joined a line with Greg Miller and Brian Ferlin in mid-January. He rattled off 11 points over the next nine games. He scored the winning goal in Game 2 of an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal against Dartmouth on March 10 at Lynah Rink.
Freshman Season — 2010-11Mowrey started out his first season strong, capturing five points in the team's first six games, but cooled off as the season progressed, ending with three goals and four assists for seven points in 27 games. He missed time in mid-February due to injury, but returned in time to appear in three of the five playoff games, playing twice against Quinnipiac in the league quarterfinals and appearing in the ECAC Hockey title game. Mowrey began his collegiate career with two goals in the season opener against New Hampshire and later added one at Clarkson on Nov. 6. His first career assist came on Nov. 12 against Quinnipiac, adding another assist the following night. He would later add assists against Princeton on Jan. 7 and at Harvard on Jan. 29.
Before CornellMowrey averaged better than a point per game during the 2009-10 season with Victoria of the BCHL, scoring 36 goals and 33 assists for 69 points in 64 games with the Grizzlies. He picked up 11 goals on the power play, one short-handed and had four-game winning goals to go along with 68 minutes in penalties. He finished the season ranked 31st in the league in scoring, and was first on the roster for the Grizzlies. Mowrey spent two seasons with Victoria, playing in 60 games with the Grizzlies in 2008-09 and scoring eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points. Prior to heading to Victoria, he claimed a Junior B provincial championship and took third place at the national tournament.
PersonalDustin W. Mowrey is the son of Daniel and Mai Mowrey and has two younger brothers. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
