A defensive captain as a junior in 2012, Minor was one of just two defensive players to start all 10 contests. He recorded 36 tackles to lead all defensive linemen with three tackles for loss and 0.5 sacks and recovered a fumble. Minor had at least one tackle for loss in each of the season's final three games and was credited with a season high six tackles against both Monmouth and Penn. Minor had four tackles and recovered a fumble in the win over Princeton. He emerged as one of the Ivy League’s best young defensive linemen as a sophomore in 2011, starting all 10 games at defensive end. He ended the season ranked second on the team among defensive linemen with 48 tackles. Minor also posted 3.5 tackles for loss and a sack while adding a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, a pass breakup and a blocked kick. Minor posted a career-best nine tackles against Dartmouth and recorded seven stops against both Bucknell and Princeton. He posted his first career sack against Wagner. Minor played in the team's final four contests of 2010, registering 14 tackles and a pass breakup. In earning his first letter, Minor closed his freshman season with five tackles against Ivy League champion Penn. In his first collegiate appearance, Minor recorded three tackles in the Big Red's win over Princeton.

At Blythewood
Minor was named team MVP at Blythewood HS as a senior after leading the team in sacks. He was part of a state championship team as a freshman and an undefeated squad as a sophomore, starting in 2007 and earning the defense’s most improved player award. An all-region pick as a senior after posting 35 tackles with 15 tackles for loss, nine sacks and breaking up 10 passes, Minor was named first-team all-area and all-region.

Personal
Willie Samuel Minor III is the son of Willie Minor Jr. and Jacqueline Brantley-Minor and has an older and younger sister. Minor is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
