Biography

Senior Season — 2015-16
Vinti enjoyed a very successful season as the team's lone senior, leading the squad in singles victories with a 12-3 record in dual matches en route to a year-end Northeast Region ranking of 20th from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. He won his last seven matches to reach completion, which included a 5-0 mark in Ivy League play. He started the winter most frequently appearing at the No. 5 position, but was the Big Red's No. 3 entry down the stretch. In doubles, Vinti was 6-4 from the No. 3 position while paired with either Dylan Brown or Karim Arem. ... In fall tournaments, Vinti was 1-3 in singles and 2-2 in doubles.

Junior Season — 2014-15
Vinti appeared anywhere from the No. 1 to the No. 4 position in dual singles matches, posting an even record of 10-10. One of his victories came against a nationally-ranked opponent, when he downed 109th-ranked George Washington's Francisco Dias in a match at the No. 1 position on Jan. 31. Vinti was particularly strong in the second half of the season, where he won eight of his final 11 matches — which included a 4-3 mark in Ivy League play. He had a 12-6 record in doubles, with all but two of those matches coming alongside Quoc-Daniel Nguyen at the No. 3 position. The duo was undefeated in Ivy matches, winning five to go with two that remained incomplete. ... In fall tournaments, Vinti was 11-3 in singles and 5-1 in doubles. He won the Orange singles bracket of the UVa Fall Classic, defeating Old Dominion's Javier Jover in the final. He also made it the finals of the Nassau singles bracket at the season-opening Princeton/Farnsworth Invitational.

Sophomore Season — 2013-14
Vinti led the team with 11 singles victories in dual matches, garnering All-Ivy League Second Team honors in singles. He was 9-1 in non-league play, including victories over opponents from Rice, Nebraska and VCU. He went on to post a 2-5 in Ivy play, defeating Yale's Martin Svenning and Brown's Brandon Burke from the No. 2 position in straight sets. Vinti was also 3-1 in doubles, including a 2-0 mark with Quoc-Daniel Nguyen and 1-1 record with Bernardo Casares Rosa.

Prior to Cornell
Vinti competed for Mississippi State during his freshman year, posting a 4-10 singles record in dual matches in the lower half of the order. He was also 7-3 in tournament matches. Vinti has competed at both Wimbledon and the Australian Open on the junior level.

Personal
Stefan Vinti is the son of Ioan Florin Vinti and Margareta Vinti and has a younger sister. He is enrolled in the School of Hotel Administration.
