Biography
At Cornell
Marshall Peters had an outstanding career for the Big Red men’s lacrosse team in which
he played every game. He capped off his senior season by earning All-Ivy honorable mention. An invaluable member of the defense and the face-off unit, Peters ended his career ranked fourth all-time in Cornell history in caused turnovers (58) and 29th all-time in career ground balls (158).
Peters had a breakout freshman season starting all 16 games, picking up 37 grounds balls, and registering nine caused turnovers. He ended the season having at least one ground ball in 14 of 16 games played.
As a sophomore, Peters also started all 16 games. He ranked 11th in the Ivy League and 58th in the nation with 3.63 ground balls per game this season. Peters was also sixth in the Ivy League and 25th in the nation with 1.44 caused turnovers per game. His 23 caused turnovers on this season ranked seventh in Cornell history for caused turnovers in a single season. As a sophomore he was a key member of the Big Red defensive unit that ranked second in the Ivy League by allowing just 9.94 goals per game. He also ended this season with two goals and one assist.
During his junior campaign, Peters anchored the big red defense. He started 12 of 13 games, picked up 29 ground balls, and caused 13 turnovers. He also scored two goals on the season. Peters ended his career by picking up 34 ground balls and causing 13 turnovers as a senior.
At The Landon School
A three-year letter winner at the Landon School, Peters was a 2013 US Lacrosse Academic All-American selection. That same season, he was named Washington Post first-team All-Met, All-Gazette first-team and second-team all-state. An All-IAC selection in 2013, Peters was also chosen to participate in the Maryland Senior All-Star game. He helped the Landon School to the IAC Championship in 2012. Peters also lettered four times in soccer and once in basketball. In soccer, he was a two-time All-IAC selection and was twice named All-Gazette second-team.
Personal
Marshall Andrew Peters is the son of Andrew and Cindy Peters and he has one older brother. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
