Patty Kazmaier Award Top-3 Finalist (2014)Patty Kazmaier Award Nominee (2015)As a Senior (2014-15)Saulnier concluded her impressive Cornell career with another big season in 2014-15. She appeared in 27 contests, posting 20 goals and 24 assists for 44 points. She finished third on the team in points, while she finished second on the squad in goals. She twice earned ECAC Hockey Player of the Week and also earned ECAC Hockey Player of the Month honors for February. She was a Second Team All-Ivy and First Team All-ECAC Hockey selection at the conclusion of the season. She also was a nominee for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. She concludes her career sixth all-time in program history for points (195), eighth all-time in goals (80), and fourth all-time in assists (115). Saulnier concluded her career with an impressive performance at the ECAC Hockey Finals, finishing the tournament with three goals and one assist, earning recognition on the ECAC All-Tournament Team.
As a Junior (2013-14)Saulnier led Cornell’s offense this season with a balanced 28 goals and 28 assists for 56 points and was first in the nation for points per game (1.65) and second for goals per game (0.82). She was one of seven players to appear in all 34 games and had at least one point in 28 of those games. She had two four-point games, including a two-goal, two-assist effort Nov. 9 at Union and another two-goal, two-point game against Princeton in Game 2 of the ECAC Hockey Tournament semifinals. She was the main face-off woman and went 481-of-829 for a .580 win percent and was named ECAC Hockey Player of the Week for Feb. 10. Saulnier was the fifth Cornell player in five years to receive the Ivy League Player of the Year award and the first to be a Patty Kazmaier Top-3 finalist. She was also named 1st Team All-Ivy, 1st Team All-ECAC Hockey, 1st Team All-American and 2nd Team All-USCHO. She led the team in points (56), goals (28), assists (28), short-handed goals (2), game-winning goals (4) and plus/minus (+28) this season and is currently No. 6 all-time for plus/minus with +85 and No. 9 all-time at Cornell for points with 151.
As a Sophomore (2012-13)Saulnier continued to excel in her sophomore season, earning spots on the ECAC Hockey Second Team and the All-Ivy First Team. She set a new career high with 33 assists -- good for ninth all-time in a single season -- and had a career-high six points against Syracuse on Jan. 15. Saulnier was on the Big Red's top line almost all year, contributing greatly to Brianne Jenner's 35-goal season. Saulnier had 10 goals during the year, four of which were were game-winners. Saulnier ended the year 14th in the country in points per game and fifth in the nation in asssits per game.
As a Freshman (2011-12)Saulnier was one of the breakout freshman in the country and racked up individual honors as a result. She was named ECAC Hockey’s Rookie of the Year, and earned the same honor from the Ivy League. She garnered ECAC Hockey Second Team honors, and a spot on the Ivy League Honorable Mention Team. She was a three-time ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week and was named the ECAC Rookie of the Month Award in both October and November. She scored four goals in her debut at Colgate and had four toher multi-goal games during her freshman campaign. She tallied five points in games against Syracuse (Nov. 1) and Boston University (Nov. 26) and racked up 12 multi-point games for the season. She spent most of the year on Cornell’s top line with Rebecca Johnston and Brianne Jenner, and finished with 52 points on 22 goals and 30 assists.
Before CornellSaulnier captained the 2010-11 Toronto Aeros of the PWHL in addition to her duties as a forward on Canada's U22 National Team. This summer she has an opportunity to again suit up for the U22 Canadian squad as she was invited to the selection camp in August. Saulnier is a complete player with dynamic offensive skills and the competitive desire to match.
PersonalJillian Pauline Saulnier is the daughter of Darren Saulnier and Christine Brennan and has a younger brother. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences.
