Biography
At Cornell
Junior (2015): Britton returned from injury to play in 15 games during his junior season as a key member of the Big Red’s defensive unit, a group that ranked second in the Ivy League by allowing just 9.94 goals per game. The defense was even better against conference opponents, ranking first in the league by allowing just 8.60 goals per contest. Britton picked up 20 ground balls and caused 12 turnovers on the season. He also scored his first career goal vs. Albany in the NCAA Tournament.
Sophomore (2014): Britton did not play during his sophomore season due to injury.
Freshman (2013): Britton saw solid playing time as a rookie, appearing in 11 contests on the Big Red defense, including four Ivy League and two NCAA tournament games. He picked up one ground ball against both Canisius and Siena.
At Darien HS
An All-American at Darien high school, Britton was selected to participate in the 2012 Under Armour All-American game. He was ranked the 35th Best Player in the Class of 2012 by Inside Lacrosse Magazine and following his senior season he was named first-team All-FCIAC and first-team all-state. Britton served as his team captain as a senior and was named the team’s MVP. He helped his team to a 2011 FCIAC Championship, earning first-team All-FCIAC honors, as well as second-team all-state and ESPN Rise All-American honorable mention accolades. As a sophomore, Britton helped Darien win a state championship. He also lettered twice in basketball.
Personal
Anthony Robillard Britton is the son of Anthony and Lisa Britton and he has a younger brother. He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
