Biography
2017-18
• Had best season yet as a senior, playing the majority on the top line.
• Tallied career-best 20 points from five goals and 15 assists, including two game winners and two on the power play.
• Game-winning goals came against Harvard (Jan. 13) and Princeton (Feb. 23) in first game of ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals.
• Went on several point streaks over the year, with longest lasting six games from Clarkson (Jan. 26) through Yale (Feb. 9).
• During those games, recorded eight points from two goals and six assists.
• Appeared in 100th game against Colgate (Dec. 1).
• Ended season with a +10 rating and five multi-point games.
2016-17
• After playing the first half of the season at forward, showed versatility and made the switch back to the blue-line for all but the final game of the season.
• Seeing time in both even-strength and power-play opportunities, tied her career-high in points (12) and set a new best in assists (9) while tying for the team lead with a plus-9 rating.
• Recorded goals in consecutive games against Providence (Jan. 7) and Syracuse (Jan. 10) and tallied the third and fourth multi-point games of her career against Yale (Nov. 11) and Syracuse (Jan. 10).
• Finished with a career-high 28 blocked shots.
2015-16
• Finished with a career high in goals and points in her second year of action, closing the season with six goals and 12 points.
• Posted multi-point games on three occasions, beginning with her first multi-goal game with two tallies in a 5-2 win over Syracuse on Nov. 14.
• Added a career-high three assists in a big 5-3 conference win at Dartmouth at Jan. 9 and had a goal and an assist in a crucial 6-4 win over Yale the next game on Jan. 15.
• Also scored a key goal in the Big Red’s 3-2 overtime win over rival Harvard on the final day of the regular season.
2014-15
• Finished with nine points, scoring three goals and adding six assists.
• Anchoring the third line, played a big role in helping to shut down other team’s top scorers.
• Finished the year as a +2.
• Scored a big power play goal in a 4-2 win at St. Lawrence on December 6.
• Added a pair of two assist games back-to-back in victories against Union and RPI on Jan. 30-31.
2013-14
• Did not see game action.
Before Cornell
• Played club hockey with the Aurora Junior Panthers along with two of her hockey teammates at Cornell.
• Led the Panthers in points while serving as a team assistant captain.
• Also on Team Ontario Blue in 2011.
• With the Burlington Barracudas in her younger years, won the Provincial gold medal in 2005, the silver in 2003 and 2008 and the bronze in 2004.
• In high school, played hockey for all four years, winning the 2010 Hockey MVP and Athlete of the Year awards.
• Named the Toronto Star Athlete of the Week in March 2009.
• Was also a javelin and discus thrower in high school and was named her school's 2011 and 2012 Track and Field MVP while claiming the OFSAA Bronze Medal in the javelin in 2012.
Personal
• Brianna Christine Veerman is the daughter of Brian and Adrianna Veerman.
• She has an older brother, Jonathan, who played a year of varsity hockey at Sir Wilfrid Lauier University, and a younger brother, David.
