Biography
As a Freshman (2015-16)
Higham finished second among the team’s freshman in points with 10, posting six goals and four assists on the season. She scored her first career goal in a 3-3 tied with Colgate on Nov. 17 and posted her first multi-goal game, including her first career power-play goal, in a 5-3 win at Dartmouth on Jan. 9. Two games later, her pair of assists helped the Big Red to a key 6-4 win over Yale on Jan. 15. She gave Cornell a 2-0 lead in Game 2 of the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals, ultimately a 5-2 loss to Clarkson on Feb. 27.
Before Cornell
Higham played three seasons for St. Mary’s Academy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, where she was named the Athlete of the Year in 2015 and won the MLA Peacekeeper Award. For her country, she was a member of the Team Canada squad that won silver at the 2015 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Hockey Championships. She also represented Team Manitoba at the 2015 Canada Games.
Personal
Christian Jana Higham is the daughter of Jackie Higham, and she has one sister. Her cousin, Mackenze Stewart plays in the Vancouver Canucks system. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
