As a freshman (2016) 
• Saw action in two games as a rookie, playing against Dartmouth and Brown.
• Picked up one ground ball vs. the Big Green.
 
At Duxbury HS
• A three-year letter winner at Duxbury high school.
• Served as team captain and earned his team’s MVP award as a senior.
• Won his team’s Defensive Player of the Year award twice after leading the squad to consecutive South Sectional championships.
• Was a two-time first-team Massachusetts All-American, as well as a two-time BostonLax All-American.
• Named to both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald All-Scholastic teams in each of his final two seasons.
• Earned consecutive Patriot Ledger All-Star honors as a junior and senior.
• Lettered twice in football.
 
Personal
• William Michael Stauss is the son of Tim and Anna Stauss and he has two younger brothers and one younger sister.
• Comes from an incredibly athletic family.
• Mother was an All-American track athlete at Denison University and went on to compete as an elite triathlete, ranking among the top 20 in the world from 2004-06.
• Three cousins – CJ LaConte (West Point; lacrosse), Meg Hutchinson (UVA; swimming) and Ted Hutchinson (Wittenberg; swimming) – werecollegiate athletes.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
