As a Senior (2017)
In her final season in a Cornell uniform, Dickson etched her name into the record books. A key contributor on offense, Dickson led the team with 31 goals and 41 assists for 72 points, the second-highest single-season total in program history. She started all 19 games and recorded at least one point in every game. She had six points against Dartmouth on April 15 and against Harvard on May 5 in the Ivy League Tournament semifinals. In that game, Dickson had two goals and four assists to break the program’s previous single-season assists of 36 while also setting single-game tournament records in assists and points. She also had three consecutive five-point outings against Colgate on March 7, Columbia on March 11 and USC on March 19. Dickson finished her career with the sixth most points in program history (177), the third most assists (85) and the second most draw controls (145). She is the only player in team history to sit in the top three in draw controls and assists. Dickson was named to the Ivy League All-Tournament Team, earned first-team All-Ivy honors and was a first-team IWLCA Regional All-American.
As a Junior (2016)
After missing time near the beginning of the season due to injury, Dickson returned to her scoring ways, netting 24 goals and recording seven assists in the last 12 games of the season to finish tied for the team lead with 36 points (28-8). She scored four times against defending National Champion Maryland and netted four in an 11-3 romp over Harvard. In the Ivy League Tournament Championship, she scored twice and added two assists to help the Big Red to its first tournament championship in program history, earning All-Tournament Team honors for her efforts. In Cornell's NCAA First Round game against Canisius, she put up four more points, netting a hat trick and adding an assist. Appearing in 16 games and starting 13, she also finished with 26 draw controls, 16 ground balls and four caused turnovers.
As a Sophomore (2015)
Dickson had a huge breakout second season for the Big Red in 2015. She led the Ivy League with 59 points and 31 assists during the regular season, also chipping in 28 goals. She also paced the team with 49 draw controls and 29 ground balls, while adding 13 caused turnovers. She scored five or more points in eight contests during the year, while starting all 16 games. She posted a career high eight points with three goals and a career best five assists in the victory over Cal on 3/31. She scored a career high four goals two times during the season in a victory over Temple on 2/21 and against Penn on 4/26. She was a unanimous First Team All-Ivy selection, while she was a Second Team IWLCA All-Northeast Region selection at the conclusion of the season.
As a Freshman (2014)
Dickson had a great freshman campaign, starting 11 of the 16 games she played in. She recorded five goals and five assists on the season, and had a season-high two goals in the Big Red’s 15-7 victory over Colgate. She finished the season with 19 ground balls, 28 draw controls and 13 caused turnovers.Â
Before Cornell
Dickson, a three-sport athlete at The Hotchkiss School, played three years of lacrosse and soccer as well as one year of ice hockey in high school. She was a member of Hotchkiss' Western New England Championship lacrosse teams in both her sophomore and senior season. She was name First Team All-American in 2013 as well as a NEPSWLA All-Star while serving as team captain that same year. On the soccer field, Dickson was a Founders League All-Star in 2010 and 2011 and served as the team's captain her senior year. Dickson played club lacrosse for the CT Chargers.
Personal
Amelia Prescott Dickson is the daughter of David and Meline Dickson. She has an older brother, David, who plays lacrosse at Bucknell. She also has two younger brothers named Marshall and Alexander.
