As a Senior (2017)

As a tri-captain her senior year, Ellis set career-highs in points (62), goals (46) assists (12) and game-winning goals (4). She started all 19 games, earning multiple points in 17 of them and registering at least two points in every Ancient Eight contest. Ellis was the quarterback of the offensive unit and led the team in goals and game-winning goals and was second in both assists and points. She had two six point outings on the year, doing it at Rutgers (2g, 4a) on April 1 and against Harvard (5g, 1a) on April 29. During the season, she became just the 11th player in program history to surpass the 150 career point mark and became just the 15th player in program history to reach the 100 career goal mark. She also ended her career as the program leader in games played with 70 after appearing in every contest that Cornell played during her four years on East Hill. Ellis was named honorable mention All-Ivy and earned a spot on the Ivy League All-Tournament team after putting up seven points (5g, 2a) in the two tournament games.  

As a Junior (2016)
Ellis continued to be an offensive dynamo for the Big Red in her junior year, posting 34 points on 22 goals and 12 assists as one of six players to finish with over 30 points on Cornell's balanced attack. She posted a season-high five points (2g, 3a) in a 12-5 win over Dartmouth, but perhaps her most memorable goal of the season was her overtime-winner against Princeton in the Ivy League Tournament Semifinal, giving the Big Red its first-ever Ivy tournament win. She added two more goals and an assist in the tournament championship win over Penn, earning All-Tournament Team honors. She also scored twice in each of Cornell's NCAA Tournament games. Appearing in all 19 contests and starting 16, Ellis also picked up 11 ground balls, four draw controls and two caused turnovers.

As a Sophomore (2015)
Ellis took the next step in her development as a top tier attacking threat in the Ivy League during her second season. She started all 16 contests for the Big Red in 2015, finishing second on the squad with 38 goals, while she concluded the year with 46 points overall. She scored five or more points five times during the year, which included a season high six points in a victory over Binghamton on 3/11. She also posted a huge game in a victory over nationally ranked Stanford with four goals and one assist. She also tallied four goals in victories over Yale (3/7) and Binghamton (3/11). Ellis posted a season-high five goals in the victory over Harvard (4/18) which sealed Cornell’s berth in the Ivy League Tournament.

As a Freshman (2014)
Ellis had a fantastic freshmen season and finished with 23 goals and three assists. Ellis was named the Ivy League’s Player of the Week April 7 for her game-high six goal performance in the Big Red’s 11-10 overtime victory against Dartmouth. She had at least one point in 11 of the 16 games she played in and finished the season with 10 ground balls and six draw controls.

Before Cornell
Ellis played club lacrosse for Team 180 where she won the Sandstorm Tournament in Palm Springs, Calif., for four consecutive seasons. She was a member of Team Colorado for the WDNT in 2011 and 2012 in Stony Brook, N.Y., and her team won the tournament in their division in 2011. A multi-sport athlete in high school, Ellis played four years of field hockey and lacrosse at Kent Denver, serving as captain in both sports as a senior. She was named First Team All-American in lacrosse in both 2012 and 2013 as well as Academic All-American in field hockey in 2012 and lacrosse in 2013. Catherine's other awards include: First Team All-State in 2011 and 2012 and First Team All-State in field hockey in 2012. Her field hockey team was state champions in 2009 and 2011 and runners up in 2012. On the lacrosse field, her team was a semifinalist in 2010, 2011 and 2012.

Personal
Catherine Coleman Ellis is the daughter of Joe and Ann Ellis. Her father, Joe, is the president of the Denver Broncos. She has an older brother, Si, and a younger brother, Zander.
