As a Senior (2017)
As a tri-captain her senior year, Gilbert continually contributed on both the offensive and defensive ends of the field. Starting all 19 contests, Gilbert set career-highs in points (38), goals (30), assists (8), ground balls (25), caused turnovers (18) and tied a career-high in draw controls (12). She was second on the team in caused turnovers, fourth on the team in points, tied for fourth in goals, fifth in assists, and sixth in ground balls. Gilbert registered 12 multi-point outings on the season. She opened the season with a career-high six goals and two caused turnovers at Villanova on Feb. 18 and had five points on four goals and one assist against Harvard on April 29. Gilbert showed up against the top teams in the conference, putting up two goals and one draw control at Penn on March 4, three goals, two caused turnovers and one ground ball against Princeton on April 22, and four goals and one assist against Harvard on April 29. Gilbert was named first-team All-Ivy and was also a second-team IWLCA Regional All-American.
As a Junior (2016)
Gilbert was once again a key component of the Big Red midfield as a junior, appearing in all 19 contests and starting 18. Excelling on both sides of the ball, she posted 24 points on 18 goals and six assists and added 17 ground balls, 11 caused turnovers and three draw controls. She caused a career-high four turnovers and picked up three ground balls in a 12-4 win over California. In a dominant 10-2 win over Brown, she scored two goals and recorded an assist while adding three ground balls. In Cornell's NCAA First Round win over Canisius, she had a goal, two assists and three ground balls.
As a Sophomore (2015)
Gilbert had a breakout season for the Big Red in her second year. She appeared in 15 games including starts in the final 12 games of the regular season. She was an excellent complimentary scorer with 23 goals and 26 points overall on the year. She tallied two hat-tricks on the year, notching her first at Yale on 3/7 and also tallying a trio at Penn on 4/26. She posted five other multi-goal games, while she tallied two other three point games. Gilbert also added 15 ground balls, eight caused turnovers and 12 draw controls.
As a Freshman (2014)
Gilbert saw action in all 16 games this season and recorded three goals and one assist from the midfield. Her goals came against Rutgers, then-No. 13 Stanford and Brown. She picked up five ground balls, four draw controls and caused five turnovers on the season.
Before Cornell
A three-sport athlete in high school, Gilbert excelled on the soccer pitch, on the track and on the lacrosse field. As captain of her lacrosse squad in 2013 she helped the team go undefeated in Connecticut and win both the FCIAC and state titles. Her team also won the state championship in 2011. She was named First Team All-American in 2013, All-FCIAC Honorable Mention in 2012, and her team was the FCIAC champion in 2012. For soccer, Gilbert was All-FCIAC Honorable Mention in 2010 and 2012 and was a team captain in 2012. Gilbert played club lacrosse for the CT Chargers.
Personal
Kristen Leigh Gilbert is the daughter of Roger and Elizabeth Gilbert. She has two older sisters, Brooke and Megan.
