Biography

As a senior (2018)

• Named honorable mention All-Ivy League at center.
• Elected team captain.
• Started each of his final 20 games at center.
• Helped Cornell rush for 1,561 yards and 13 touchdowns, the most rushing yards in a season since 2006 (1,821).
• The team allowed 18 sacks, down from 28 the previous year and the fewest by a Big Red offensive line since surrendering 17 in 2006.
• Averaged 156.1 rushing yards per game despite playing seven of 10 opponents ranked in the top 20 nationally against the rush entering the game – doubled opponents season entering the game on four occasions.

As a junior (2017)

• Named to the All-Ivy League second team on the offensive line in his first season as a starter.
• Started all 10 games at center, powering a rejuvenated offensive line that helped increase the team's rushing average 25.0 yards per game over the previous season.
• The group allowed just 10 sacks over the final seven games while posting 163.7 rushing yards per game over that same span.
• The Big Red's 14 rushing touchdowns were the most by a Big Red team in a single season since 2007.
 

As a sophomore (2016)

• Earned his first varsity action as a reserve center in the win at No. 25 Colgate.
• Saw time against Princeton.
• Moved to the defensive line in week nine after a slew of injuries and saw time at Columbia and against Penn.
• Had two tackles and his first career sack against the Ivy champion Quakers.
 

As a freshman (2015)

• Spent his rookie season on the scout team.
• Played junior varsity football.
 

At Detroit Country Day School

• Keating played on both the offensive and defensive lines while attending Detroit Country Day School.
• Captained the team as a senior.
• Keating also competed in track and field in the throws.

• J. Edward William Keating is the son of Ted Keating and Paige Derby and has an older brother and younger sister.
• His brother, Connor, plays football at Colorado.
• He is enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
