Honorable Mention All-Ivy (2016)

As a sophomore (2017)
• Suffered a season-ending injury just two matches into her sophomore year.
• Averaged 1.33 kills and 3.83 digs per set.

As a sophomore (2016)
• Led the Big Red in kills for the second season in a row, averaging 3.13 kills per set, a mark that ranked third in the Ivy League this season, and 21st overall in the history of Cornell volleyball.
• Registered double-digit kills in 15 matches and recorded 11 double-doubles on the season.
• Finished the year averaging 2.44 digs per set, good for third on the team overall, and first among non-defensive specialists.  
• Ranked third in the Ivy League and 46th in the nation in service aces per set (0.40), a mark that was good for 22nd all-time in Cornell history for aces in a single season.

As a freshman (2015)
• Sganderlla had a breakout rookie season, leading the Big Red with 2.64 kills per set.
• Played in all 24 matches, with 17 starts, and registered double-digit kills seven times.
• Posted a season-high 24 kills vs. Penn in the season finale and also had 20+ kill performances vs. Brown (Oct. 31) and Yale (Oct. 30). 
• Her 24 kills against the Quakers ranks 26th all-time in Big Red history for kills in a match and was the most by a Cornell player since Elizabeth Bishop registered 27 vs. Penn on Nov 10, 2006.
• A solid all-around player, she also averaged 1.56 digs and 0.29 blocks per set.
• Posted four double-doubles on the year, all of which came in Ivy League play, and registered a season high 18 digs against both Brown (Oct. 31) and Yale (Oct. 30).
 
Prior to Cornell
• Sganderlla earned four varsity letters at St. Agnes Academy, serving as team captain her senior season.
• Was a four-time TAPPS 5A all-district selection, including three consecutive first-team honors from 2012-14, and was also a three-time TAPPS 5A all-state selection, including a first-team honor in 2012.
• Named to the TAPPS 5A All-State all-tournament team in 2014.
• Following her senior season, she earned St. Agnes Academy’s Tiger Pride Award, as well as the team’s MVP award.
• Was also named highest honorable mention Prep Volleyball Academic All-American.
• Played for the Houston Skyline Juniors club team and earned a second place finish at the 2013 Junior Nationals 16 American tournament.
• Was named to the all-tournament team at the 2013 Junior Nationals 17 American tournament and helped the club to a fifth place finish at the 2014 Junior Nationals 17 American tournament.
 
Personal
• Carla Sganderlla is the daughter of Luiz and Carmen Sganderlla and her older brother, Lucas, attends Cornell.
• She is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
