As a Senior (2016-17)

Bunton wrapped up her Big Red career with another strong season. She led the team in points with 29 on 10 goals and 19 assists. She was named the Ivy League Player of the Year and earned ECAC Hockey Third Team and First-Team All-Ivy nods. In addition to career-highs in points and assists, Bunton also recorded career-bests in power-play goals (5), game-winning goals (4), shots on goal (135) and plus-minus rating (+6). After being held without a goal in the first five games, Bunton exploded for her second career hat trick in a 4-0 win over Brown on Nov. 11 - with all three scores coming in the third period – and notched two assists in a 4-2 win over Yale on Nov. 12 to secure the first of two ECAC Hockey Player of the Week honors. On Jan. 13 against Princeton, Bunton scored with 1:02 remaining to force overtime to earn an eventual 1-1 tie and then the next day against Quinnipiac, scored just 10 seconds into overtime – and earned another Player of the Week accolade for her heorics. She became the 27th player in program history to record 50 career assists and, with her winning tally against Quinnipiac, the 35th player to record 75 points. Bunton, who finished tied for the team lead in power-play points (11), recorded three different four-game point streaks during the season, accruing at least five points in each one. She finished her Cornell career in the top 25 in points (87) and power-play goals (10) and stands fourth overall in game-winning goals (12) and seventh in shots on goal (424).

As a Junior (2015-16)
Bunton had a breakout season as a junior, leading the team in points all season long and finishing with career highs in goals (13), assists (14) and points (27). She scored the Big Red’s first goal of the season, which evened the score with national powerhouse Boston College before the Eagles went on to win 4-1 behind two empty-net goals on Oct. 23. She went on a five-game point streak from Nov. 7 to Nov. 21, racking up 10 points over that span and capping the stretch with a four-point game that included her first career hat trick in a 6-1 win at Mercyhurst. She had a hand in both goals in the Big Red’s draw with nationally ranked Clarkson on Jan. 22, scoring the first and assisting on the tying goal. In addition, she closed the regular season on a four-game point streak, highlighted by two goals in 1:09—including the game-winner—in a key 4-2 win over Yale on Feb. 13 and the primary assist on the golden goal in the 3-2 overtime win over rival Harvard on Senior Day. Bunton appeared in all 31 contests, led the team 110 shots on goal and was named Second-Team All-Ivy at the conclusion of the season.

As a Sophomore (2014-15)
Bunton was a strong presence on Cornell’s second line in 2014-15. She finished the season with 14 points, equaling her previous career high with seven goals. She appeared in 28 games on the season. Bunton showed a penchant for scoring in the clutch for the Big Red. Of her seven goals, three of them went for game-winners. She scored the overtime game-winner, as part of a two-point game, in a huge road victory at fifth-ranked Quinnpiac on Feb. 6. She closed her second year with a bang; scoring the game-winning goal in the ECAC Hockey Semifinal against the tournament’s top seed Clarkson and adding a goal in the loss to Harvard.

As a Freshman (2013-14)
Bunton, a constant offensive pressure on the Big Red’s second line, finished the season with seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points. She recorded a season-high three points Nov. 16 at Dartmouth, where she had one goal and two assists in the Big Red’s 4-2 victory over the Big Green. She was named ECAC Hockey’s Rookie of the Week for Nov. 19. Bunton was the sixth Cornell player in seven years to receive the Ivy League Rookie of the Year and received ECAC Hockey All-Rookie Team honors as well.

Before Cornell
Bunton was one of the top Under-18 players in Canada, making the roster for the IIHF World Women's U18 Championship in 2013. She won gold with her home country thanks to Canada's 2-1 overtime victory against the United States, assisting on the game-winning goal in the extra period. Bunton played her club hockeye for the Whitby Wolves along with Cornell teammate Victoria Pittens. With Whitby, Bunton was an assistant captain who scored 50 goals in 2013. Her teams won the PWHL league championship, the playoff championship and the JWHL Challenge Cup in 2013. She was also an assistant captain on Team Ontario Red in 2012-13 and she was named the Junior Athlete of the Year at her 2012 Provincial Championship. A three-sport athlete in high school, Bunton played on her school's basketball team for two years as a point guard and her track team for three years as a hurdler, sprinter and triple jumper besides three seasons on the hockey team. Bunton was her team MVP in all three sports.
