Biography
At Cornell
Career: Moran enters her senior season ranked in the top 10 at Cornell in career assists (seventh).
Junior (2015-16): Moran served as team captain during her junior season in which she ranked second in the Ivy League with 4.0 assists per game, and was third overall in the conference and 35th in the nation with a 2.2 assist/turnover ratio. She stared all 28 games and scored in double figures eight times, including a career-high 19 points vs. Brown on Feb. 5. Moran posted her first career double-double, and the Big Red’s first point-assist double-double since the 2009-10 season, with 18 points and 10 assists without a turnover vs. Towson. The 10 assists vs. the Tigers ranked eighth all-time in Cornell history for assists in a single game, and was the first to do so without a turnover. She went on to register her first point-rebound double-double with 15 points and a career-high 12 rebounds at Brown on March 5. Moran knocked down 13 free throws vs. Brown on Feb. 5 to rank second all-time in Cornell history for made free-throws in a single game, tied with four others, behind Karen Force (15 at Yale on Feb. 1, 2003).
Sophomore (2014-15): Despite a slow start due to a preseason injury, Moran still saw action in all 28 games, starting the final 20 of the season. She finished the year ranked first on the team and third in the Ivy League with 3.4 assists per game, and was fifth overall in the conference with a 1.2 assist/turnover ratio. Moran was also fourth on the team and 25th in the Ivy League with 7.5 points per game. She posted career highs in points (15) and rebounds (8) at Penn on Feb. 6 and handed out a season-high seven assists at Brown on Jan. 30. Moran played a career-high 46 minutes in Cornell’s double OT victory at Vermont, a mark good for third place in Big Red history for minutes played in a single game. She scored in double-figures nine times on the season, including an impressive 14 points at No. 22 Syracuse. Moran led the team in assists eight times, while leading the squad in steals four times, and in rebounding once.
Freshman (2013-14): Moran started all but one game during her rookie season, averaging 27.3 minutes per contest as the team’s starting point guard. She finished the season averaging 6.4 points, 3.5 assists and 3.2 rebounds per game. Her 3.5 assists per game ranked third in the Ivy League and she had the fifth-best assist-to-turnover ratio in the conference (1.2). Moran scored in double-digits five times during the season and led the team in scoring once with 14 points in a 59-49 victory over Drake. She also registered a career-high 16 points in Cornell’s victory over Brown, going 7-for-9, on Jan. 31. Moran handed out a career-best eight assists vs. the Bears and matched that total against vs. Harvard on Feb. 15 and vs. Dartmouth (3/1). She also tallied seven assists in Cornell wins over Columbia on Jan. 25 and Brown on Feb. 21.
At Oak Knoll School
A four-year letter winner, Moran set the Oak Knoll school record with 1,453 career points and was an ESPN Hoop Gurlz 3-star prospect. She was named the Union County Player of the Year and was selected to the N.J. North/South All-Star team as a senior. She led her team in scoring all four seasons, and was a three-time team MVP, after being named team Rookie of the Year her freshman season. Moran was a four-time first-team all-conference selection and was named first-team all-county twice after a second-team selection as a sophomore. She also lettered twice in soccer and once in cross country.
Personal
Kerri Lynn Moran is the daughter of Michael and Barbara Moran and she has two brothers and two sisters. She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
