Biography

As a senior (2018)

• Saw action in the first two games of the season before missing the remainder of the year.
• Caught a pass in the season opener at Delaware. 
• Had five carries and caught two passes for a total of 16 yards against Yale.

As a junior (2017)

• Finished second on the team in rushing (282 yards, two touchdowns) and fourth in receiving (23 receptions, 213 yards, touchdown) despite missing three and a half games due to injury.
• Ran eight times for 24 yards and caught three passes for 20 more in the season opener at Delaware.
• Caught a 14-yard touchdown pass in the Ivy League opener at Yale.
• Led the team with 12 carries and 41 rushing yards to go along with three catches for 28 yards against Colgate.
• Compiled 150 all-purpose yards in the win over Harvard - 93 rushing yards on 19 carries and six receptions for 57 yards.
• Had a 19-yard catch and one carry in the first quarter before sitting out the rest of the Bucknell game with an injury.
• Had 16 carries for 66 yards and a touchdown and caught three passes for 46 yards in a win over Brown.
• Had 49 all-purpose yards and a 1-yard touchdown run in the win at Princeton before being injured in the second half and missing the rest of the season due to injury.
 

As a sophomore (2016)

• First-team All-Ivy League selection.
• Led Ivy League and ranked 42nd nationally in yards per carry (5.41).
• Finished second in Ivy League in rushing yards and rushing yards per game (72.8, 39th nationally) and was third in all-purpose yardage (106.4).
• Had three 100-yard games (Bucknell, Colgate, Columbia) and was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week after a 178-yard, three touchdown game at Columbia to post the most rushing yards by a Cornell player in a game in 20 years.
• On the year, Walker ran for 655 yards and three touchdowns in nine games while hauling in 19 passes for 191 yards and a score.
• Ran for 75 yards on 23 carries and caught a 22-yard pass at Brown.
• Exploded in his first varsity start, picking up 141 yards on 17 carries in a win over Bucknell to open 2016.
• Ran for 110 yards on 13 carries in the win at Colgate, including two runs of at least 40 yards.
• Had 40 rushing yards on nine carries at No. 16 Harvard.
• Had 38 yards on 11 carries and caught seven passes for 38 more yards against defending Ivy champ Dartmouth.
 

As a freshman (2015)

• Played in three contests as a freshman, carrying the ball 11 times for 53 yards (4.8 yards per carry).
• Had nine carries for a career-high 47 yards against nationally ranked Harvard.
• Earned his first varsity playing time at Yale, carrying once for four yards.
• Also earned a carry against Patriot League champion Colgate.
 

At Marshall County HS

• Walker was an all-state selection at running back at Marshall County HS.
• He earned district MVP honors after rushing for 1,271 yards on 8.5 yards per carry and 23 touchdowns.
• Also made 79 tackles with three interceptions on defense.
• Named district MVP in his final season.
• Two-time first-team all-area and all-region.
• Elected team captain as a senior.
• Earned all-district tournament team honors in basketball.
 

Personal

• Chris Markel Walker is the son of Lane Walker and Jasmine Mayes and has a younger brother and sister.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
