Biography
As a junior (2018)
• Played in 15 games overall.
• Started the final 12 game of the season.
• Finished the year ranked eighth on the team in goals (12), assists (6) and points (18).
• Scored a man-up goal with 5:35 remaining in the contest to hand the Big Red a 10-9 win over Syracuse in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament.
• Had a season-high three goals against Air Force and Brown.
• Posted a season-high five points against the Bears with three goals and two assists.
• Scored twice in the Big Red’s win over Yale in the Ivy League Tournament championship.
• Picked up 10 ground balls on the season.
As a sophomore (2017)
• Started 10-of-13 games during his sophomore season.
• Ranked fifth on the team in goals (16).
• Tallied a career-high seven assists on the season.
• Registered at least one point in 10-of-13 games.
• Tallied multiple points in six games, including a season-high six points (five goals, one assist) vs. Dartmouth.
• Picked up 23 ground balls and caused one turnover.
As a freshman (2016)
• Had an outstanding rookie campaign, starting all 13 games and leading the team with 23 goals.
• His 23 goals ranked fourth in Cornell history for the most goals scored by a freshman, behind Sean Greenhalgh (39 in 2002), Matt Wise (29 in 1995), and Rob Pannell (25 in 2009).
• Added one assist to rank second on the team with 24 points.
• Registered at least one point in each of the final eight games of the season, and finished with three man-up tallies.
• His one game-winning goal came in dramatic fashion, scoring with one-tenth of a second remaining in regulation to cap a dramatic comeback victory on the road at Lehigh on April 16.
• Was named Rookie of the Week on March 14 after helping the Big Red upset No. 17 Virginia with a season-high four goals.
• Also registered four goals vs. Albany.
At Landon School
• A US Lacrosse High School All American.
• Earned three varsity letters at Landon School.
• Won Landon's prestigious Harrison Triplett Award at graduation, which is given to the most athletic student in the class who represents, skill, great sportsmanship, and dedication to the programs.
• Was also the winner of the 2014 George Boiardi for integrity, citizenship, and humility.
• As a senior captain, he was named the team’s MVP after leading Landon to a No. 2 national ranking and a record of 20-2 on the season, marking just the third time the program had ever won 20 games.
• Tied the school record for goals in a single season (49) and added 16 assists to lead the team in points.
• Finished his career ranked third all-time at Landon in career goals.
• Named first-team All-Met and first-team All-Gazette in 2015.
• Was a two-time first-team All-IAC selection and a two-time Under Armor Undercalss All-American.
• Helped Landon to consecutive IAC Championships and was a member of the Maryland Freestate Team.
• Named second-team All-Metin 2014 after leading Landon in points.
• Earned three varsity letters in football and hockey.
• On the gridiron, served as team captain and earned MVP honors as a senior.
• A two-time All-IAC honoree and helped the football team to an IAC Championship as a sophomore.
• A two-time captain in hockey
• Twice named All-IAC, won three IAC Championships, and led Landon to the High School Hockey Maryland State Championship as a senior.
Personal
• Steven Colton Rupp is the son of the late Steven Rupp and Lindsey Lambert Rupp.
• Brother, Dillon, played football for Bucknell for four seasons.
• Enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences.
