As a senior (2020)
• Started all five games for the Big Red at offensive midfield in a shortened senior season due to COVID-19.
• Ranked fourth on the team in assists (5) and fifth in goals (9) and points (14).
• Was off to a hot start on offense, as his five assists on the season matched a career-high and his nine goals and 14 points were only three shy of his entire junior campaign.
• Notched a career-high four goals, including a natural hat trick, in Cornell’s season-opening victory over UAlbany on Feb. 15.
• Finished the game against the Great Danes with a career-high four points.
• Dished out a career-high two assists against High Point and Ohio State.
• Turned in a multi-point performance in every game of the season.
• Finished the season with five ground balls, picking up a career-high three against UAlbany.
As a junior (2019)
• Played in all 15 games as a sophomore, making his first career start vs. Yale in the Ivy League Tournament semifinal.
• Finished the season with 12 goals, five assists, and 17points, all of which were career-highs.
• Scored a season-high three goals, including the game-winner, at Notre Dame.
• Handed out a season-high two assists as the Big Red upset No. 1 Towson.
• Picked up 12 ground balls on the year, including a season-high three at Yale.
• Caused one turnover vs. Penn State.
As a sophomore (2018)
• Played in 16 games on the second offensive midfield.
• Finished the season with eight goals and two assists.
• Registered half of his goals vs. Ivy League competition.
• Scored against both Syracuse and Maryland in the NCAA Tournament.
• Both of his assists came vs. conference opponents.
• Picked up six ground balls on the year.
As a freshman (2017)
• Struggled with injury during his freshman season but still saw action in five games, playing vs. Penn State, Hobart, Albany, Colgate and Syracuse.
• Picked up four ground balls on the season, registering two against both the Statesmen and the Orange.
Prior to Cornell
• A US Lacrosse All-American.
• Earned three varsity letters at Ridgewood high school.
• Served as team captain as a senior.
• Led all midfielders in goals and assists in each of his final two seasons and as a senior he earned his team’s MVP award for his efforts.
• Named the 2016 Gibbs Division Player of the Year and the 2016 All North Jersey Player of the Year.
• Also named all-state, All-North Jersey, all-county, All-Group 4, All-Gibbs Division, and All-NJ MSG Varsity during his career.
• Named an Under Amour All-American in 2015.
• Was the Epoch/Lacrosse Magazine National Player of the Week on April 13, 2016 after scoring a pair of game-winning goals in back-to-back overtime wins.
• Following his heroics in a triple-overtime win over Hunterdon Central on April 2, Telesco scored with 2:54 left in the first overtime for a 9-8 upset of Bergen Catholic on April 6 to complete a hat trick.
• Lettered four times in hockey and three times in football at Ridgewood, serving as the captain of both teams.
• Was a first-team All-North Jersey selection in hockey and was a second-team selection in football.
Personal
• Cooper James Telesco is the son of David and Tina Telesco and he has two sisters and one brother.
• Brother, Tripp, was an USILA All-American for Lehigh.
• Enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
