Biography
2014 NHL Draft Pick (Chicago Blackhawks; 3rd round, 88th overall)
As a junior (2017-18)
• Centered a line in all but one of the Big Red's 33 games, accruing 10 points on three goals and seven assists with a plus-7 rating.
• Team's most frequent faceoff man, winning 53.9 percent of 469 draws taken.
• Started season with five assists over the first six games.
• First goal starting scoring of 4-3 victory over Boston University on Nov. 25 in the biennial Red Hot Hockey game at Madison Square Garden.
• Scored twice in Game 1 rout of Quinnipiac in an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series at Lynah Rink.
As a sophomore (2016-17)
• Played all 35 games and broke out with 14 points on four goals and 10 assists.
• Got off to a hot start with points in three of the first five games, including a goal to give Cornell a lead in an eventual win Nov. 11 at Brown.
• Excelled during latter part of the season on a line with Jeff Kubiak at center and Anthony Angello on the opposite wing.
• Recorded three points in the team's six playoff games, including final goal of ECAC Hockey Championship semifinal victory over Union.
As a freshman (2015-16)
• Limited to 15 games in part due to an injury suffered in early season.
• Scored first collegiate goal in just his second career game, crashing the crease to convert a rebound during a 4-3 win over Princeton on Nov. 6.
• Goal was only point of the year, though he added 16 shots on goal and eight blocked shots.
Prior to Cornell
• Selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the third round with the 88th overall pick of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
• Played for three seasons with the South Shore Kings and renowned program at Catholic Memorial High School near Boston.
• USPHL all-star after scoring 47 points in 48 games with the Kings during the 2013-14 season — his first campaign at that level.
• While competing with Catholic Memorial, was named to the 2013 Boston Globe All-Scholastic Team.
Personal
• Beau Dollas Starrett is the son of Peter and Anna Starrett, and he has three older brothers.
• All of his brothers played college hockey — Pete at Harvard from 2008-12; Troy served as captain at Babson; Shane played for two seasons at Air Force before signing an NHL contract with the Edmonton Oilers.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
