Biography
As a senior (2020-21)
• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
As a junior (2019-20)
• Ranked second in team scoring with 26 points on eight goals and 18 assists.
• Plus-20 rating tied for team lead, led all ECAC Hockey forwards and ranked tied for eighth nationally among forwards.
• Led team with 403 faceoffs taken and 56.6% success rate (including a 61.6% win percentage in the Big Red's 9-0 run through February).
• Doled out 11 assists on the power play, which was second-most on the team.
• Accrued seven points over a five-game scoring streak from Nov. 16 to Dec. 6, including a three-point effort Nov. 16 against St. Lawrence.
As a sophomore (2018-19)
• Wrapped up the season with 18 points on seven goals and 11 assists with a plus-11 rating.
• Was one of team's hottest players down the stretch, recording points in seven of the the final 10 games.
• Recorded a goal and two assists Feb. 8 in a 5-0 rout of Clarkson.
• Had 16 points and plus-13 rating over season's final 25 games while pivoting a line with classmate Morgan Barron on the left wing.
As a freshman (2017-18)
• Tied for the team lead in assists with 15, adding two goals for 17 points while establishing himself as an everyday center.
• Plus-15 rating tied for for eighth-highest in the nation among freshmen.
• Both goals were game-winners, starting with an unassisted tally late in the third period of a 5-4 victory Nov. 4 at Princeton.
• Had three assists Jan. 5 vs. Princeton, then added four helpers in Game 1 of an ECAC Hockey Championship quarterfinal series vs. Quinnipiac on March 9.
• Won 55.7 percent of faceoffs, which ranked 11th in the nation among freshmen.
Prior to Cornell
• Won the RBC Cup championship in 2017, helping Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Cobourg Cougars to Canada’s Junior A national title.
• Had six assists in six games for host team.
• Played two seasons with Cobourg, racking up 87 points on 35 goals and 52 assists over 88 games.
• 2013 pick at OHL Priority Selection, playing next two seasons with Abitibi Eskimos in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.
• 55 points during the 2013-14 season was most in the league for a rookie, then 81 points in 46 games the following year was good for fourth in the league.
Personal
• Brenden James Locke is the son of James Locke and Monique Rodrigue, and he has three sisters.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
