As a senior (2021)

• Saw action in 14 matches with three starts.
• Averaged 1.98 kills per set, a mark that ranked fifth on the team.
• Posted 26 digs and 28 blocks (fifth among Big Red players).
• Notched 13 kills on .303 hitting against Brown.
• Credited with nine kills on .320 hitting with three digs and two blocks at Yale.
• Had four blocks in contests at Brown and Penn.
 

As a junior (2020)

• Season canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a sophomore (2019)

• Saw action in 19 matches as a sophomore, making nine starts.
• Was a significant blocking threat for Cornell, sitting fourth on the team in blocks (40.0) and blocks per set (0.60).
• Ranked fifth on the team in both kills (138) and kills per set (2.06).
• Also ranked fifth for Cornell in points (159.5) and points per set (2.38).
• Hit .251 on the season, showing great improvement from her freshman campaign.
• Posted double-digit kills six times, including a season-high 13 kills against Columbia on Sept. 28.
• Registered 12 kills on 17 attempts against San Francisco on Sept. 14, hitting a season-best .588 for the contest.
• Tallied at least three blocks in nine matches.
• Finished the season with 23 digs and four assists.
 

As a freshman (2018)

• Saw action in 19 matches during the season.
• Ranked third on the team with 2.65 kills per set.
• Reached double-digit kills on seven occasions, including six Ivy League contests.
• Registered a season-high 15 kills vs. Siena and at Brown on Nov. 10.
• Hit .173 on the season.
• Finished the year with 36 digs and 25 total blocks.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Hanan was a three-year letter winner at Carlsbad High School, serving as captain in 2017.
• Honored as a second team all-league selection in 2017 and an all-league honorable mention in 2015.
• As a member of Wave Volleyball, Hanan led her team to a ninth-place finish at the 17 Open Girls National Championship in 2017.
• Hanan graduated Carlsbad in the top 4% of her class.
• Was also recognized as a Lancer Leader, one of 10 strong all-around students chosen as role models for their school district.
 

Personal

• Avery Paige Hanan is the daughter of Dan and Jamie Hanan and she has two brothers.
• Her father, Dan, was a member of the Stanford volleyball team (1986-90) and the U.S. Men’s National Volleyball Team (1989-93).
• Her mother, Jamie, played varsity water polo for UC San Diego (1988-92) and played for the U.S. Women’s National Water Polo Team (1991-95).
• She is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
