Biography

As a senior (2019)

• Recorded 36 tackles with 4.5 for a loss, 3.0 sacks and a pass breakup in 10 contests (five starts) at linebacker.
• Earned his first career start in the season opener at Marist and posted three tackles, including one for a loss.
• Made three tackles with a half-tackle for loss at Ivy preseason favorite Yale.
• Notched three tackles vs. Georgetown.
• Had four stops with a half-sack at Harvard.
• Notched three tackles and a sack against Colgate.
• Made one stop in the win over Brown.
• Notched five tackles and a pass breakup against No. 12 Princeton.
• Notched a game-high eight tackles with a half-tackle for loss at Penn.
• Had three tackles with a sack in the win over Dartmouth.
• Credited with three tackles in the Senior Day win over Columbia.
 

As a junior (2018)

• Played all 10 games at linebacker and on special teams.

Prior to Cornell

• Bedard was a two-time all-conference and all-region selection at Science Hill HS.
• The four-year varsity letter winner helped his team to three conference and district titles and two regional championships.
• He captained the team as a senior while playing quarterback and threw for over 2,000 yards and 18 touchdowns in his career while rushing for 1,416 and 21 touchdowns as a dual threat who also lined up at running back.
• As a junior, Bedard accounted for more than 1,110 yards and 19 touchdowns with zero turnovers despite missing four games due to an injury on his way to first-team all-league accolades.
• Bedard also lettered in both baseball and basketball, helping the latter to a sectional and regional title and a state tournament berth.
 

Personal

• Justin Robert Bedard is the son of Jeff Bedard and Stefanie Bettens and has an older sister, two younger brothers and a younger sister.
• His father played basketball at Iowa and his mother was a volleyball player at San Diego.
• He is enrolled in the School of Industrial and Labor Relations.
