As a senior (2019-20)

• Averaged 3.4 points, 1.7 rebounds and 0.4 blocks in 21 contests (seven starts).
• Made his first Cornell start in the season-opening win over Binghamton, posting a career-best 11 points and six rebounds along with three blocked shots.
• Bettered that with 17 points, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, to go along with four rebounds, an assist and a steal at Bryant. 
• Notched three points, three rebounds and a blocked shot at Syracuse.
• Scored 10 points at Coppin State.
• Posted four points and two rebounds off the bench against Lafayette.
• Scored seven points with four rebounds and two blocked shots in the win over Elmira.
• Notched four points, three rebounds and a steal at Harvard.
• Earned a Senior Day start at home vs. the Crimson, scoring five points with a rebound, an assist and a steal.
 

As a junior (2018-19)

• Averaged 1.3 points and 0.8 rebounds in 4.3 minutes per game in 16 contests off the bench.
• Posted a career high 10 points (3-of-4 3-point field goals) with two rebounds and a blocked shot in the win over Johnson & Wales.
• Tallied four points, three blocks and two rebounds in 12 minutes of action against SUNY Canton.
• Hit 3-of-5 shots for seven points and added two rebounds in 13 minutes off the bench in the CIT first round game at Robert Morris.
 

Prior to Cornell

• Averaged 12.6 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game as a sophomore at East Central Community College while shooting 42 percent from the floor overall and 34 percent from 3-point range.
• Recorded four 20-point games and one double-double.
• Posted 5.3 points, 3.0 rebounds and 1.0 steals per game as a freshman.
• Averaged 16.5 points, 12 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game as a senior at Quitman HS, earning all-league and all-region honors.
• Named one of the Top Seniors to Watch by the Clarion-Ledger prior to his final season.
• Was named MVP of the Hotbed Classic as a senior.
• Helped the team to a state runner-up finish as a junior, hitting the game-winning 3-pointer in overtime in the semifinals.
 

Personal

• Thurston Jose McCarty is the son of Lester and Lita McCarty.
• He is enrolled in the Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.
