As a senior (2020)
• Named an Inside Lacrosse/Maverik Media Honorable Mention All-American.
• Appeared in all five games during the shortened season due to COVID-19 as a key member of the Big Red’s defensive midfield.
• Led Cornell in ground balls (19) and ranked second in caused turnovers (6).
• Ranked sixth in the Ivy League in ground balls per game (3.80) and seventh in caused turnovers per game (1.20).
• Registered a career-high seven ground balls and career-best two caused turnovers in the Big Red’s season-opening victory against UAlbany on Feb. 15.
• Tallied at least one caused turnover in every contest of the season.
As a junior (2019)
• Saw an increase in playing time over the course of the season as a member of the Big Red’s defensive midfield.
• Played in 11 games, including five Ivy League contests.
• Picked up seven ground balls on the year.
• Registered a season-high four ground balls vs. Princeton.
• Caused three turnovers on the year with one in each of the Big Red’s final three contests.
As a sophomore (2018)
• Saw a significant jump in playing time as a sophomore.
• Played in 16 games on the second offensive midfield.
• Finished the year with four goals and four assists.
• Had a career day with two goals and one assist vs. Dartmouth.
• Scored against Albany and Binghamton.
• Had an assist vs. Air Force.
• Picked up one ground balls against Binghamton.
As a freshman (2017)
• Saw action in seven games as a rookie.
• Played against Penn State, Hobart, Albany, Dartmouth, Harvard, Syracuse and Brown.
• Tallied a goal in his first collegiate game, scoring against the Nittany Lions.
Prior to Cornell
• A 2016 US Lacrosse All-American.
• Lettered four times at Skaneateles high school.
• Was an All-CNY Section 3 All-star as a senior captain for the Lakers.
• Was a two-time first-team All-OHSL Liberty League selection, after being named honorable mention as a sophomore.
Personal
• Samuel Cleary Duggan is the son of Dave Duggan and Lynn Cleary and he has one brother and one sister.
• His father, played football for Hamilton College, while his sister Abby Duggan played lacrosse for Johns Hopkins.
• Enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
