Biography

As a junior (2021-22)

• Averaged 9.8 points along with 3.0 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game in 20 games (16 starts).
• Scored a career-high 20 points with three rebounds, an assist and a steal in the season-opening win at Binghamton.
• Had 19  points with six rebounds and two assists in the victory at Lafayette.
• Had 14 points in the win over reigning Patriot League champion Colgate.
• Notched 11 points with four rebounds vs. Wells and 11 points and three rebounds vs. Saint Francis (Pa.).
• Scored 14 points on 4-of-6 shooting beyond the arc in a win at Canisius.
• Credited with 14 points and four rebounds in the win over Coppin State.
• Netted 18 points, including 4-of-7 shooting from 3-point range, with four rebounds and three assists in the win over Harvard.
• Notched eight points with three rebounds and two assists in the win over Brown.
• Added seven points with a rebound, two assists and a block in the win over Princeton.

• Posted two points, two steals and an assist in his collegiate debut, a season-opening win over Binghamton.
• Had 14 points, including connecting on 4-of-6 3-pointers, at Bryant.
• Had five points and two rebounds against NJIT.
• Registered two points, four rebounds and a steal at DePaul.
• Scored 15 points and grabbed five rebounds at Syracuse.
• Notched six points and three rebounds at Coppin State.

Prior to Cornell

• Jones was named the NEPSAC Class A Player of the Year after leading Phillips Exeter to a conference title.
• Averaged 18.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per game in his postgrad season.
• Captured first-team all-league and all-county honors and was named league MVP as a senior at Oaks Christian School.
• Averaged 23.0 points, 9.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, 3.0 steals and 1.0 blocks per game while leading the team to the CIF Division 2A quarterfinals.
• Led the team in points, rebounds and steals.
• Named a San Fernando Valley and Ventura County All-Star.
• Named to the county and league all-academic teams as a junior and senior.
• Earned first-team all-county and second-team all-league and all-CIF as a junior after averaging 14.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.5 steals and 1.0 blocks per contest.
• Twice named team captain and MVP.
 

Personal

• Maxwell Jordan Jones is the son of Max Jones and Natalie Beeler.
• His father played in the NFL (Buffalo Bills) and the USFL (Birmingham Stallions), while his uncle Sean Jones played in the NFL with the Los Angeles Raiders, Houston Oilers and Green Bay Packers, winning a Super Bowl title in 1997 with the Packers and twice capturing All-Pro honors.
• He is enrolled in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the SC Johnson College of Business.
